Re: The difference between MGF and MGF Trophy Hydragas spher

Thanks for the reminder - I need to chop the standard sphere I have sitting in my garage. Unfortunately it takes forever to cut with a junior hack saw blade - and I don't want to use a cutting disc! Time to build my biceps I guess... The trophy knuckle pins are apparently the same as standard. The ...

Re: HID Xenon upgrades

I spoke a length about after market HID`s with my friendly MOT inspector earlier this year about how the recent MOT changes affect the legality of fitting them, his reply was that they had been instructed to fail them if the colour temp was too high & that the 6000k we have fitted are borderline.

Re: 3-phase machine tools...

The only 3 phase component would be the motor so you could just replace with a single phase one of the same horsepower simples ;) Most general purpose machine tools have for many years been sold with both options anyway.

Re: After Market Steering wheel

There are 2 different plugs for airbag depending upob age of the car, as long as the plug and airbag match you'll be fine as all ZS/45/ZR/25/F/TF have the same plug on the main loom. Cheers for that you just jogged my memory :thumbsu: that was why I had to change it I knew there was a reason just c...

Re: After Market Steering wheel

Do you have a picture of the 25/ZR coupler? If so I'll have to get one! :) Sorry I can`t help with a pic as it was fitted about 5 years ago as the ZR wheel was too big for our liking & I do not have a scooby doo where it is it will be in the back of the garage somewhere though so will try & dig it ...

Re: After Market Steering wheel

Quote I am not sure whether the Rover 25/ MG ZR coupler is any different?

I can confirm that the MGF wheel will directly replace the MGZR one but if I remember correctly I had to fit the F rotary coupler so there sould be no reason why this will not work in reverse

Re: After Market Steering wheel

You need to take into consideration the fact that the drivers air bag is mounted in the steering wheel you may find that that you will be able to fit other Rover group steering wheels & retain the feature as I have done by fitting an F one to a ZR

Sounds like you have got water in the electrics I would start by checking things like the distributor cap, Ignition leads, plug caps & ignition coil packs.

Re: Suspension woes. Hard, crashy skittish ride.

If you pump it up to 400psi it should be fairly close to the correct height whatever that may be ie about 10mm lower if it has lowering pins fitted at least that way you will know that the system is not over pressurised. Air in the system should not cause it to go solid it would tend to have the opo...

Re: The difference between MGF and MGF Trophy Hydragas spher

interesting, wouldnt mind having a go at operating on one, I still think theres a way of putting in a spring within the sphere when they fail. over the weekend I saw some coil kits that are fitted instead of the rubber suspension on the minis, there has to be a way other than swapping subframes fro...
