Re: Stainless Steel (SS) Update

I have a MGOC Supersport box on my TF160
It's louder than the original, but not significantly so, it did have some resonance at about 3000rpm with the hood up originally, but that disappeared after a while.

HELP boot latch broken

Arrrgh.....on my way to France and the boot latch has broken on my TF160 ! The boot shuts OK. but pops open on the first large pothole or bump in the road. Bungees have kept the boot from flipping up too much, and I'm in Deal today before the tunnel on Saturday. I suspect that there may be a spring ...

Re: MG TF Unstable, nervous handling

MGtf's, and 160's in particular, are very tyre sensitive, only 2 brands recommended for them by the factory.

Re: MG TF Unstable, nervous handling

I suspect it's the tyres....it usually is !

Landsail do get mixed reviews ;-

I've always used Toyo tyres on my cars....Proxes are particuarly good on my TF 160

Re: Rear boot spoiler

Other than cosmetic, do they serve any purpose ?

I put a SEAT spoiler on the front of my TF, it appeared to make it a little less light at speed, surely more down-force on the rear will have the oppposite effect....will make it easier to lift the boot though !

Re: SEAT front splitter for MGTF

I have got a Cupra one on mine, the curve is slightly different so you will have to cut "V"'s in it to make a good fit.

Re: Cleaning inlet ports?

Never heard of brake fluid being used, I'm not sure it evaporates, does it ?

I would use Acetone , ( the wife's nail varnish remover ) if you do not want to buy anything.

Re: 18year old car breakdown cover.

The RAC cover me, I have 3 cars , my MGB is 40 years old....no problem the breakdown cover is personal to me, not the vehicle I am in.

I paid £ 81.69 after discounts (UK breakdown only, but I can get singletrip Eutropean cover for an additional premium as required)

Re: Cold air filter

I changed the paper filter for a PiperCross one, and rerouted the pipes to side vents, and fitted scoops. Slight increase in induction noise at full throttle, I don't think It's made much difference to performance, but I'm now confident I've got the coldest air in the induction at not much extra cost

Re: Door pockets for MGF availablity?

Thanks Daz. it really is a quite easy mod,i had to take about 1/2" off the full length of the bottom of the Golf panel, and the trimming of the top of the box bit to the contours of the doorcard takes time, the only downside is that the box bit overlaps the speaker , but I had to do this as otherwis...

Re: Door pockets for MGF availablity?

Yep Daz....Job done over the weekend. I had to cut a hole in the door panel to fit the opening box at the front, and the back of the Golf units took a lot of trimming to fit, but they look OK. posted a pic on T Bar forum http://www.the-t-bar.com/forum/9-mgf-tf-pitstop/91106-wocha-bin-doin-on-your-mg...

Re: Door pockets for MGF availablity?

Daz

Looks possible, a bit long,it overlaps the speaker somewhat, and will need trimming to fit the door curvature, I will take the door-card off this week and report back !

Re: Door pockets for MGF availablity?

Resurrecting this thread. The rigid ones are very expensive for what they are, I've got a pair of door pockets off my old Golf mk2 Gti which are about the right length, I'm going to experiment and see if I can trim them to fit. Quite cheap on e- bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Mk2-GOLF-GTI-BLACK-PL...

Re: TF exhaust

I bought the MGOC Supersport one earlier this year. it is slightly louder than standard ,more of a burble, but becomes more noticeable once you reach 3000 rpm, or accelerate hard. It does not seem to produce noticeably more torque than standard, only downside is some resonance on de-celleration at s...
