I was surprised to see yet another yesterday in Helmshore (between Bury and Blackburn) an really nice TF in a pale metallic blue(monogram perhaps?), quite sunny here in the North West at the mo so might see a few more, all TF's though where are all the F's?

I bought one like this on E Bay, ad says it is for the MB SL R129 model, it fits the MGF hadtop perfectly and comes with a cover. This one came into the car park at work the other day, I have spoken to the owner once before, I remember that he told me he had had it from new, the interior has been re trimmed in tan leather. It is in very lovely condition

If you do go the regassing route, I would buy a second hand set of spheres, get them regassed and swop them with your originals, keep the originals as spares or resell them on E Bay to recoup the costs, or even get them regassed before selling, would fetch a premium then. Snap......I have just bought a pair also, unused so the red finish is still good and I likethe look And a pair of discs to match, not had much use but will need a bit of a clean up with a bit of scotchbrite Just need some wheels and tyres now

I am looking for a hardtop for my 1998 F, preferably in Nightfire Red but repainting is not a problem so any colour will do but it must have the later style rear catches as pictured. Thanks in anticipation

The catches are just riveted on, so yes they could be swopped if you could get the correct rivets

There are two types of rear catch on the MGF Hardtop, they changed I believe in 1997.

The later type is like this picture If the catches on your hard top are like this then I will buy it.

We went to Morcambe Vintage by the Sea festival at the weekend which included a classic car show at the Midland Hotel and spotted this IMG_9037.JPG Very nice looking MGF Freestyle I think and also not an F but very very nice, I have never seen another, an MG SA fully restored.
