Having had a further look there is a metal tab held in by a bolt that holds the fitting to the gearbox but I was trying to find out what holds the wiring bit in position.

RobboMC, The hoses on mine do cross over which would seem correct the Rimmer brochure indicates this also, So all ok in that respect.

Coolant hoses
On refitting my engine and running up to temp the coolant in the reservoir was bubbling surely that can't be right so I'm worried now that I've got the rear hoses crossed though I was confident at the time of fitting, Any advice please?.

Hi , Thanks for the reply, I'm away from home at the moment will check on return but as far as I recall its just a snap on fit don't remember taking a bolt off but it could be me talking rubbish Lol.

Hello again Guru's, I have a small problem re-fitting the electronic speedo connection to the gearbox, It doesn't connect properly but just flaps about loose I don't recall losing anything but wondered if there's a circlip or something that retains it gone astray, Does anyone have an answer please?,...

Hi again all, On the right hand side ( facing front ) of the engine bay There is a small matchbox size box attached to the wall this has two small black tubes coming out one goes to the left and into the ems as far as I can see but the other one has a couple of bends in it and faces forward and goes...

Thanks for that Reckless, I'm sure all will be well, I fitted a low level alarm a while back and have just put in a new filler cap too, I also let the engine idle and come up to temp before hitting the road. Being 70 I'm not the type to go thrashing it around I much prefer cruising our country roads...

Hi all, My MGF failed its MOT due to subframe rot, I have changed this now and while the engine was out I've changed the clutch, Water pump, Timing belt and tensioner, And also put in polybushes, My dilemma now is should I do the head gasket as well?, My local garage says no if it aint broke don't f...
