Re: Evolution

Well my car is evolving in the opposite way to others cars in that I'm trying to create more of a GT car, so long distance comfort is the major factor. Only had the car 3 months so not changed much so far. But what I have done is fitted a new head unit, with Bluetooth, DAB and have routed the USB po...

Cone filter

Years ago I had an Elise. One of the many mods I made to what ended up as a 180bhp monster was a hurricane filter.
Essentially a cone filter in it's own airbox with a pipe directly to the side intake. Is there an equivalent for the mgtf (160)

Re: 12V Feed

I've upgraded the stock speakers in the doors with some jbls and have added fat mat to the doors.
Bass has improved but volume is still an issue at speed. Would also like some more lower mid range for a fuller sound but not booming bass.

Biggest injury whilst maintaining your car?

Well this weekend I managed to slice into my knee with a brand new Stanley Knife, whilst fitting new speakers.
Nice 1 inch deep and 3 inch long cut, requiring six stitches.

What injuries have you sustained whilst giving your MG some tender loving care.

12V Feed

I'm currently undergoing an audio upgrade of the TF at the moment. Headunit replaced (DAB, Bluethooth,USB, etc), 12V for the DAB Arial was just spliced off the Radio 12V feed. Fatmat going onto the doors next week and the new JBL components to be fitted after that. Now the next task may well be a po...

Re: MG TF Newbie

Well I've lived with the TF for a week now. New Radio fitted, DAB, Bluetooth, USB, etc,etc Trim on A-Pillar was surprisingly easy to remove to hide the aerial cable (screen mounted) and the Microphone cable (mounted to sun visor that I can't use anyway) SRS light came on for one day then disappeared...

Re: After Market Steering wheel

If anything I'm looking for a smaller wheel.

I loved the Steering wheel in my old Elise, which didn't even have power steering

Re: MG TF Newbie

No it's not alcantera. It's like little bubbles of rubber stitched onto fabric.

After Market Steering wheel

Well my TF 160 gets delivered on Thursday.
However the one thing that I don't particular like is the steering wheel.
Are there any after market steering wheels, preferably with audio controls.

Cheers

Re: MG TF Newbie

Car finally purchased.
2003 MGTF 160 in Trophy Blue. 57000 miles on the clock,
Cambelt and head gasket changed 1800 miles ago

Goes like stink.
The only thing that lets it down are the half leather seats. The leather is fine,
but what is that horrid fabric and plastic bit inbetween

Re: hi

Welcome, only just joined myself. The K-Series just loves lightweight sports cars. It's a revvy little unit, let down with by being mated to cheap manifolds, plenums, and throttle bodies. and of course cooling solutions. The engine is easily tuneable to 130-140bhp (assuming you have the 118bhp versi...

Any tips and tricks to lighten the car, usually the cheapest way to better performance.

MG TF Newbie

Hi all, just about to get myself a TF. Have a few in mind, will likely be a 135 but if a 160 can be found at the same price, I'll be happy. Used to have an Elise so know the K-Series well (had mine tuned to 180bhp), so that does not worry me too much, if the gasket goes, well that sounds like a perf...
