Re: MGRover TF gear knob removal
Plan A for ours was to cut 25mm off the gear stick thread it & fit a Momo like we had on our previous TF but on removing the gear knob I realised it wasn't so straight forward so plan B was I found a Momo on eBay that fitted using the spring clip method it wasn't cheap but it fitted ok, it's been on...

Lee Pudney who organises the Friends Round London run used to be the guy for stripes on Fs & TFs I think he's usually on mgrover.org.

Re: Oil filler
Perhaps the blue marker paint is to ensure the bolt goes back in the correct place if you remove it?

Re: Oil filler
It's definitely the bottom one on our 2010 TF I've just been in the garage to check, for some reason it has blue marker paint on the bolt head?
Edit: looking at the OPs picture it definitely looks like the bolt has been in the top hole to be honest?

Re: MG Tool kit
Ours just sits in the boot unused, hopefully that's how it will stay, I've seen them go for £100+ on eBay :D If it needs more than is in this kit to mend the TF it's breakdown recovery time I've no intention of rolling round at the side of the road to be honest :D Does yours have the MG-R gloves as...

Re: Timing belt change intervals plus what else

Re: Indicating blows fuse
The only time I've had electrical things close down one after the other is when the alternator belt came off, not sure if it's the cause in this case but it would be worth checking if the car is charging ok?

Re: If you could only carry (5) tools, what would they be?
There's some handy tool kits sold by Oxford for under motorcycle seats, I have a good collection of Teng stuff but I only take cheaper stuff away from home just incase it gets lost, one of the benefits of working for a large tool retailer

Re: If you could only carry (5) tools, what would they be?
We have done many thousands of miles on the continent, I take the MG toolkit in the boot, a selection of zip ties, gaffer tape etc but the main thing is breakdown cover, only problem we've ever had was when the TF threw the alternator belt up a Norwegian mountain, not the cars fault as belts had bee...

Re: Horn, Front light problem
I'll go with Geoff, when electrical things start working erratically I always look at earthing first, find the earthing point disconnect, clean & refit, if in doubt run a temp earth back to battery?
