Re: TF 135 2009 - OBD2 Connection

We did 55K miles in our now sold TF & never had a problem with the electrics except it had 3 sets of replacement headlights due to severe misting, if anyone has a problem with the headlights don’t buy the Chinese ones get MGR they don’t mist up as bad as the Chinese copies do. I got used to the “oil...

Re: Leak into boot

You could try the old talcum powder method sprinkle it in the boot & wait for the water trails to show up, On the plus side if it doesn’t work your boot will smell nicer :D

Re: Oil change on MGF 1.8 VVC

I’ve done an oil change on our 2010 TF today I jacked it up to give a bit more room & boy did I need it as although I’d bought a filter removal tool (74-76mm 15 flutes) the filter wouldn’t move & the new tool kept slipping so I reverted to the chain type I have & although a PITA to use it loosened i...

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?

If you go on eBay & search for "fender washer kit" there's plenty of choice of sizes & colours.
I ordered M6 x 16mm bolts.

Re: Insurance

Insurance is a minefield Einstein couldn't understand, we've been with AVIVA for a few years, this year it went up by £50ish, so we tried comparison sites one that came up at £203 was Quote Me Happy but underwritten by AVIVA :D in the end we went with LV for £223. We have 2 cars with AVIVA & our hou...

They were great days Kasper :)
They were indeed, we've enjoyed a few Kempenrits & TdLs in the past, I think we had the best years, we haven't been to the Campanile in Loon Plage which was usually the meeting point for us, for many a year :D

Re: Fuel Cap Lubrication

The best thing to use in locks with pins ie car locks, Yale type locks, etc is graphite powder, dust the key with it & put the key into the lock, do it a couple of times.

I learnt that from a locksmith during my joinery career :D

Re: How good is the MGF - V - BMW S1000 motor bike!!

I've been gradually reducing engine size on bikes over the years I'm now down to a 500cc Honda but I'd hang up my helmet if I was beaten in a race with an MGF in normal circumstances to be honest :D

Ours isn't an LE, just a run of the mill 2010 TF135 having covered 55K miles, the paint Frost White has stood up rather well, but beware of the Chinese variety of misty headlamps, ours is on its 3rd set :D

Re: Where u buying your Falkens?

I went on Falkens site they had a search feature gives local dealer & one near us was offering a tenner off 2 fitted & their price was competetive, I used to buy on line & have tyres fitted locally but they seem to have got wise to that & now the fitting charge makes it uncompetive. I splashed out o...

Most of the tools I have are Teng, good quality stuff, Halfords Proffesional is also supposed to be good & they frequently have some excellent offers on their kit.
