Insurance

Hi all

Just got an insurance quote for my 2001 F from Peter Best at £650.

My last 2000 F with them was only about £200 so a bit disappointing, apparently 2001 doesn’t qualify as ‘classic’.

Any other recommended insurers I can get a quote from?

Re: interior colour Light Tan and wood

Here's a picture I've used before that shows the finished interior. The gear lever surround, from Mike Satur is one of only two made as far as I know (Andy Phillips has the other). The rest is as listed earlier ; http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f199/adrian9450/img012.jpg Hi Adrian I really love y...

Thanks for the input. Think I’ll invest the £200 in something with more immediate ROI!

Go to the greengrocer and buy a large King Edward. Place it next to your bed and then you can get a potato clock...

Remote Engine Start

Has anyone fitted a remote engine start?

Is it possible?

I’d like to start the engine remotely to warm it up so it’s ready to drive when I go out… :thumbsu:

PRT Benefits/Problems

Is it worth fitting a PRT?

What are the benefits?

Any potential issues?

Any additional parts required, how much labour is involved?

Cheers :D

Re: Engine Harness

I hear you, thanks. But apparently it need to be the specific harness for the model of car and a 2001 VVC is YSB113930. I couldn’t find any for sale and it took the previous owner 4 years to find the correct harness which made me think it might be worth buying it to be on the safe side but £200 is q...

Apparently these a hard to find and I can’t see any for sale anywhere.

How like is a harness to fail, should I buy it for safe keeping?

Proud new owner…I’m back!

Hello chaps hope everyone is doing well! It’s been a few years since I wrote off my beloved F and I have missed her. But I just bought this little beauty in exactly the same BRG and cream interior combo as my previous F which is my favourite. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202307209888581?...

Re: MOT Failure

Stuart I have recently removed both front and rear subframes from my TF, its not really that big a job but dependant on your resources. I am fortunate in that I have a 2.5 tonne trolley jack and can borrow a 25 tonne (yes 25 tonne) trolley jack. The latter enables me to lift the body clear of the e...

New subframe mounts are readily available but the removal without damage of (probably) corroded bolts is the worry. A relatively simple job then becomes much more involved - well worth leaving to a good garage with a lift.
Ok thanks Charles!

But would like to get her back on the road if it’s not too expensive! So a few of the failure points I’m concerned about are the following: - Nearside Re...
