Re: what have you done on your mgf today?

Fitted new rubber gators on the end of the gear change cables, plus bought and fitted a replacement clock as the hour hand wasn't moving. Had a brake bleeding pump for xmas so will be doing the whole system shortly. Thinking of replacing shockers later too.

Re: Hello from lovely Consett

Hi Mike, I'm up the road just outside the lovely Annfield Plain so not far from you. I have recently bought a 98 MGF also bought from Yorkshire, although I did go look at it first. I've also just bought a 2006 MG ZR in BRG which can be seen travelling around Consett as I use it for my job. We'll hav...

Re: MG mad

Day one in the MG ZR household and the engine management light came on. She's still running okay but it puts a dampner on the purchase. There's also a noise from the nsf which I could be a bearing but it sounds more like low rumble and seems to come and go ??? Methinks it's an investigative job for ...

Re: MG mad

The mud was dry and had been nicely layering over the last 17 years. It was a good 6 inches high and Time Team would have had a field day examing it. The liners come off fairly easy, so I'd recommend to everyone taking them off occasionally and de-mucking the mud traps. I then gave the underside the...

MG mad

Armed with so many negative reviews on MG ZR's, I've only gone and bought a 1.8 120 5dr. It's a 2006 with 48,000 on the clock, must be one of the very last out of the shop I suppose. However, the MGF still has pride of place in the garage though, now fitted with K&N filter and a heat shield, sounds ...

Where do you get the rubber gaitors from for the gear change cable ends?

Hard top liner

Hard top liner was sagging so took off the fibre glass mount and stripped it bear of all the dodgy sponge and liner. Following a good scrape with a stanley blade holder and a rub down, treated it to a 50/50 PVA glue mix to stabilise the whole thing ready to fit the new liner which is in the post as ...

Hi, I'm Andy, I live in Stanley, 10 miles from Newcastle. After the usual kids flying the nest and an over indulgment of Wheeler Dealers, I bought a 1997 MGF two weeks ago. After seeing a few of them over a couple of months, it was by far the best of the bunch having an abundance of history and repa...
