I read this:
Have you not tried the tennis ball method :
Cut a small hole in a ball large enough to cover the key hole and then while you hold ball in place push it in as far and as fast as you can

Re: Fitting a 52mm throttle body...
All done purchased and fitted for just over 80 quid.
A marked difference - improved response - well worth it.

Thank you. It goes in next Thursday.talkingcars wrote:I'd definatly recomend it.
Make sure you do a throttle position reset afterwards, this is done on the car and not via a T4 session.
My mechanic is excellent but I will still give him Rob's excellent instructions.

Re: Fitting a 52mm throttle body...
Thanks Rob - sorry, one last point - if I would notice the difference 'immediately' that is surely a reason to fit it...
Isn't it?

Re: Fitting a 52mm throttle body...
Thanks lads
Rimmer Bros reckon an increase in power of 1-2BHP
That's not much but as you say the throttle response would be worth it...
So, to a layperson/novice like me- I would notice a difference?
Lastly, I can see how much they cost but what would the labour charge to fit be approx please?

Attaching the tonneau cover
Mine is a nice tight fit when attaching but perhaps too tight and I need to pull to attach (and worried about tearing it) So, two eyelets (one on each 'end') and a press stud in the centre Is there a' best' order? Eyelet, stud, eyelet? or Stud, eyelet, eyelet? or Eyelet, eyelet, stud? Thanks for you...

Sticking clutch pedal
Everything is working fine regarding gear change etc. However, after I have depressed the clutch to change gear and have removed my foot from pedal it sticks and doesn't return immediately to its correct position - then after a second or so it springs back up and returns to it's maximum height as pe...

Re: Optimate Permanent Connection Charger
Thanks Rob and Geoff - very helpful
Geoff: I used to love the 1100 - my dad had a couple in his day. Also an A40.
He also had a Maxi, with what I recall, a terrible gearbox. I learnt to drive in the Maxi 46 years ago!

Re: The 'best' car battery...?
Has anybody got an Optimate permanent connection fitted?
If so where have you placed the connector - inside the car or under the bonnet?
