Re: bulkhead flex under braking
Rob, yes it is that type of air inlet, a very easy fit.
That together with 280mm discs all round provides much improved braking.

Re: bulkhead flex under braking
I was unable to obtain the jaylad brace a year or so back so I bought a similar bracket from MG Mania.

Re: Sticky throttle.
I had a similar problem and probably like most lubricated the cable using WD40, you should not use oil as I understand that the cable has a PTFE liner. This improved matters for a few months after which it started to stick and snatch again. I used WD40 again but when picking up some oil I noticed a ...

I had my 135 TF remapped and the advice was to use the higher octane if the car is driven hard.

Re: re maps M,chester
Yes that is true, however if you reduce the air entering the inlets in the front bumper there will be less air exiting under the car. If the reduced air flow is directed more effectively through the radiator rather than being allowed to flow around it and under it, it will produce the same cooling e...

Re: re maps M,chester
I have just had my ECU remapped by KMaps (Mark Stacy) at £239. It certainly makes for a smoother drive, pulls away more easily, and appears to have eliminated the F/TF 'hesitation' issue. It has also added (at no extra cost) an optional crackle and pop on gear change / deceleration, which is persona...

Re: Q: running lumpy
A question for Rob Bell I have a slight misfire on my late TF and using the recently acquired pscan unit I am getting a variable charge time on coil 2 whereas coil 1 is rock steady. I am also seeing a 2/3% misfire on cylinders 1 & 4. Am assuming the coil pack is going faulty and needs to be changed?...

Re: Why no mild steel performance exhaust manifolds?
RSR92 I fitted the foam filter at the weekend during the basic service, it seems to make for smoother running and slightly easier acceleration but no huge differences, not that I was expecting any. A quick calculation shows the size of the two intake pipes to be larger than the feed to the intake ma...

Re: Why no mild steel performance exhaust manifolds?
The induction system on the TF has two intake pipes and a larger filter surface area than the F and I cant see there would be much difference to the after market offerings apart from the aesthetics. Its worth looking at some of the tests / assessments on YouTube, quite an eye opener. I suspect that ...

I have just fitted a similar system and would have a similar problem if you don't fit a small adaptor called a Mill Eliminator. It just adjsts the range that the second sensor reads and tells the ECU that the CAT is doing its job, which it is.

Re: Why no mild steel performance exhaust manifolds?
I have just had a Mike Satur complete stainless steel exhaust system fitted. This is a 4:2:1 manifold, sports cat and Daytona box. There is a noticeable gain in power and torque, smoother to drive and a great exhaust tone. If you are looking for an upgrade then this ticks several boxes for me. I wil...

Re: Tyres and the MoT !
I have read the Gov web site regarding MoTs and its not quite black and white. It does not state that your current MoT is now null and void and does allow for taking the vehicle to be retested and or repaired. It does however state the car must be road worthy at all times, implying this is a lower s...

Re: 280mm rear discs
I have been running 280mm all round for a few months now with no problems and a noticeable improvement together with a servo brace. if you want to keep the 15" wheels the next logical step would be multi-pot front callipers from the likes of Hispec or similar. I was doubtful of their solution for th...

Re: Accelerator cable
Having experienced the sticking / dragging accelerator problem I improved it by detaching it from the throttle body and squirting WD40 into the end. When this dried out a bit I tried the new WD product with PTFE and this was better but still experienced that dragging feeling at times. I recently rem...

Re: MGF brake booster brace bracket
I cant see much difference between the F and TF brake servo mounting so have fitted the bracket from mike Crossly and it certainly firms up the brake action and consequently more of the pressure is applied to the master cylinder. I have fitted this in conjunction with 280mm discs all round for a muc...
