Unfinished project
Hi all, I have a 99 mgf 1.8 (non vvc) for sale in old English white with red interior. It's an unfinished project and personal circumstances have forced a very reluctant sale. It runs drives and it's had numerous new and refurbished parts but no MOT and a receipt of the head gasket being done around...

Half/drive shaft
Hi all. I've just been out to my 99F after the winter break and have a pool of gearbox oil over the floor. It's coming from the gearbox to drive shaft seal area. I replaced the drive shafts before Xmas so I'm guessing the half shaft isn't sat properly. Is there a way of re-seating the seal without d...

Re: where to get Hydragas pumped up ????
Thank you for the reply, do you know if he'd be willing to rent me his pump as my f isn't moving anywhere as there is no fluid in it at all so the floor of the car is literally sitting on the floor. Plus it has no MOT.

Suspension
Hi all, Is there anyone in the salisbury/amesbury area that would be willing to borrow/rent me a hydroelastic pump. My 99 F has had a refurb so no fluid in the suspension at all and can't drive to a garage, and local garages are reluctant to rent out their pumps to me. I've bought fluid which should...

Re: Starting problems
Hi tipper,
Yeah the only one I haven't done yet is the earth between the bottom of the gbox and the bulkhead but assumed that wouldn't affect starting the car but will get that checked out.

Hi all, hope all is well in the mg world. I'm still having dramas starting my 99 F after a subframe swap a few weeks back. The Dash lights are coming on,immobiliser bleeping as per normal, fuel pump kicking in normally. However I'm getting nothing else, I am getting a small audible click from behind...

Re: Electrical
That's what confuses me rob. Don't get me wrong I'm no electrician but the cable from the battery goes straight to the solenoid on the starter. So how I read the wires it goes from the batt to the starter solenoid then from there it splines off the ECU and the rest of the electrics it's confusing me...

Re: Electrical
Morning rob, not at the moment I've downloaded the start and charge wiring diagram so I can trace where everything goes I'm still edging toward a bad earth somewhere. I have a snapped earth from the gbox to the bulk head and have 2 earth wires that come from the main loom to the ECU that I need to c...

Re: Electrical
Thanks for the reply nick. Yeah I've got all working dash lights. The small wire with spade connector is fitted aswell as the battery and fusable link wire fitted to the starter motor solenoid. My only thought is I have a bad earth somewhere.

Electrical
Evening all, I've just returned my engine and sub back into my 1999 f. I have no cables/connections leftover so I'm pretty confident I've Connected all electrics. However it won't start I'm getting a click from the ECU and the fuel pump is kicking in but not getting anything else. No clicks from sol...

Seats
Hi hope all are well, Quick question. Are mgf seats exclusive to the mgf or is it possible to put zr/zs/zt seats into the my F. My original red leather with blue piping seats need replacing I can't find replacements, and the ones I can find are out of my budget. So because my F look naff with the cu...
