Re: Windows Stuck down
Hi guys, I have an update on the situation. So I found out that the engine bay fan wasn't working either by doing the test (removing socket from engine bay temp sensor). Checked the fuse box and found the fuse for the fan blown. Replaced it and windows started working. However, the moment I tested t...

Windows Stuck down
Hi guys, Have a little problem with my 2002 160 TF. Took it out a week ago and drove it for a few hours. Put the windows down and parked it in my garage again. Once in the garage, I disconnected the battery (with windows down). A week later, I reconnect the battery, everything works fine but the win...

TF 160 Low idling speed
Hi guys, I 've finally put all the pieces back together again after a complete body re-spray and came to the part of starting it up and driving it out the garage after several months on axle stands. The car was fine before and I started it up a few times in the last few months and it always worked f...

MGTF 160 badge locations
Hi there guys. would anyone know the exact location of the rear TF 160 badges and the union jack/chequered flag badges under the side repeaters? Is the 160 badge in line with the top part of the TF badge or the bottom? If any of you have any pictures of theirs. it would be greatly apreciated. Cheers...

Re: Electric Windows issue
Yes, square Fob. I'm assuming it's the ECU. Might get hold of one from a freelander. It looks exactly the same and the socket matches but part of the part number code is different. Anyone knows if it matches?

Re: Electric Windows issue
I tried swapping the switch with the left one but the problem remained on the right side. So not the switch.
BTW, the car is a 2002 MGTF 160

Electric Windows issue
Hi guys, I'm having an issue with my driver's side electric window. I'm putting everything back together again after a complete rebuild. The driver's side window goes down all the way with one touch (rather than me holding the button all the way down). I don't recall it being like that before. What ...

Window rail spacer bolt needed
Hi guys, when reassembling my car after a re-spray, I found one of the bolts which holds the window rail to the door missing. It's an odd looking bolt with thread on both ends. It has a slot on one side to be adjusted with a screwdriver and a thick round plain part in the middle, with a rubber piece...

Re: Windscreen washer jets
Hi guys, thanks for the info. I will have a look at the ones in the link, Talking cars. Considering the fact that I live in Malta and the temperature rarely goes below 8 degrees C, I don't think i will ever need them, however it would be nice to keep everything functional. I'll see what I come acros...

Windscreen washer jets
Hi Guys, One of my windscreen washer jets snapped while I was removing it and I'm looking for a replacement. Quite a simple task one would think. However, my jets have two wires coming out of them which connect into a socket about 5 inches away. Found several for sale on Ebay but cant find and with ...

MGFT Front bumper support
Hi guys, A quick question but perhaps not that easy. I plan on buying a front bumper support from an MGF for my TF. The collapsible part from one side was damaged due to a small bump. I know that the TF bar has a couple of extra fittings rivetted on but that's not a problem. My main concern is if th...

Re: Instrument cluster lights
That would be the oil pressure light Nigel. I'm talking about the oil temp light. If you see the photo above, it's the second from the bottom. The oil pressure light works ok.

Re: Instrument cluster lights
Ok. I've just managed to fix the boot light problem. Found a broken wire near the boot lid hinge. I've also noticed that during those few seconds when I am cranking the engine, the oil temp light goes on but only then. The moment I release the key back to position 2 and the engine starts up, the lig...

Re: Engine bay fan problem
Yes Daz it was right behind the expansion bottle. It seems like the sensor was fitted the wrong way round. Not a problem, Easily fixed. I also tested the sensor using a heat gun and it seems to work ok. Tested the front fan too while I was at it by removing the coolant temp sensor socket and started...

Instrument cluster lights
Hi guys, Another question. As can be seen in the picture, my instrument cluster has several symbols in between the rev counter and speedometer. However, only two light up when I turn the key. (The SRS and the steering light) all the others never light up. I looked at the back of the cluster but ther...

Re: Engine bay fan problem
Hi guys. managed to find the socket. Plugged it in. Fan not running all the time anymore so I guess problem solved. Just a quick question, should the sensor socket be facing the engine or the rear of the car. It appears to be the wrong way round but maybe that's the way it's meant to be. Just to get...
