We'll there is a 2005 Steppy in my drive. I use the car on a daily base, unfortunately mostly (too) short drives. Pscan present but I guess I'll have to do the latest update.
Car has been serviced and MOT-ed last week including a T4 check due to a faulty charcoal canister.

Re: Hydragas Suspension
Well done Ted! I did this some years ago, at the time all suspected it could be done but no-one dared. Since then driving Ghost has been a pleasure like having a new car as you've seen along the Rhine.

Re: Alternator change over year?
Hi Corky Welcome to the forum I think the alternator change came at the same time as MEMS 3. The later alternator has a white plug with 3 cables, the early one had 2 wires that are bolted to the terminals. James that makes sense as the difference in hooking up the alternator to the car is by the ex...

Re: Cruise control.
I installed a JohnGold CC back in 2015 to my 2005 TF. Looking at the web site of the company they stopped selling after market Cruise Control units. Probably due to the need for having one in a new car for some years now. it was not an easy job as the usual companies installing CC units did not have...

Re: SOLVED! Mk2 Alternator in Mk1 car ?
Should have known that about a month ago.
They supplied a Mk2 so I had to change that one for a Mk1 and had to leave a "couple" of euro's too.
Whoo these Mk1 altenartors are expensive.....

Re: "Remapping" MEMS1.9: 5bhp gain :)
I wonder what the effect would be on a MEMS2J vvc. I'll have a go as soon as it is available for the early vvc engine

Re: Dutch bloke bought dream car.
... I was stunned the rear lights standard apparently have no cover on the inside, I ordered those and now I don't have to be afraid to break stuff in the boot. Who's idea was it to skimp on that?.. Well, initially there were no covers. Only after the move to the east, MG came up with these. It is ...

I have re-gassed Hydragas to fit - so I am looking forward to that wonderful ride/handling compromise to be fully restored Kasper! :D The same as I did, and WOW what an experience! I do believe people saying the new systems are driving well, but I would not like the unique hydragas feeling to disap...

Re: 21 years and counting
Glad you got a good-un! Mine certainly is, but certainly needs a cosmetic restoration (school-mum inflicted body damage) and a suspension re-fresh and I think the old girl will look and feel as good as she did 20 years ago! :D For the cosmetic part i cannot say anything what a restauration will do ...

Re: Long distance motoring ???
What about earplugs ? Some reports do point out that hearing problems are more frequent with people driving convertibles. Not only that in an MGF @ 60 MPH you reach about 80 dBa. but I think it also brings a lot of ease. Resulting in a much more convenient way of travelling. If you have good ones (...

Did do this a thousand years ago ;) at the time no-one dared to do so. just followed YOUR web site Rob! I did not do it all by myself, back in those days my head was not focussed on doing such a job but I sourced the guy to make the connections at the spheres, and had a handy guy at hand to do most ...

Only two months to go and the f turns 22 as well. Still a great car, doing over 6000 miles a year, just for holiday-trips and MG related events.

Re: How much for a spray refresh?
£1000 here for a quick & dirty repair/repaint, £3k + for an excellent job I guess that is the only correct answer. I did my I about 10yrs ago after two dogs scratching all panels eager to get to the remains of a cat that slept all night on the soft top. it was not just the spray job, where there is...
