Re: Brake random soft pedal

Another pertinent fact is I'm not a heavy breaker under normal circumstances. I prefer anticipation and balance. Whilst the old/wet fluid is a seductive theory I'd be surpised if the brakes were that hot, though I was coming down a hill when it started. For social acception the preferred driving st...

Re: WANTED - MGF Trophy 160

Enjoy! As you are someone with MG history you should be aware of the need to have the car propperly serviced. For those who don’t believe these cars are expensive in our country: https://www.gallery-aaldering.com/mg-mgf-trophy-160-price-reduction-2010/ Ok, it has been put on the road in 2010, and di...

Even in our, smal, country. I think it easy to summerise up to a number that is facors higher. It must be a student reporter born after 2010 who writes that sort on nonsence down.

The eBay car has a rather strong asking price on it - no idea if the market will support that or not!?!
Should it be a LHD and in our country it would have been a bargain.

Re: Very strange issue, am I the only one?

My ‘96 vvc ran quite well while driving but when stopping in traffic the revs dropped untill the engine died OR ran at a high rate 1,5 - 2k revs per minute. It took a while to trace the issue as all thought about the obvious issues like faulty sensors, broken wires, unset vvc mechanism. In the end w...

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?

The radiator had to go a long, long time ago, out of the F. exchanged for a Alu one. Now Ghost has earned a season of recuperating after tours to Lake Constance, Black Forrest, Ardennen Meeting in Luxemburg, the Dutch Octagon tour and a meeting in the Peak district and in Kent. Now the TF is back on...

Extracted the front subframe
Guess that comes with a reason, anti corrosion wise or some damage. Anyway a good moment to get a new colour on your subframe, I suggest a vibrant tint, like Orange ;)

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?

As our trips are getting further and further away, I decided to install at Mrs Kaspers request to have a cruise control installed as she has issues, stretching her leg for long periods. Just in time as supply of the CC’s is running out. All new cars have it as standard so there is hardly any demand ...

Tylor Ballard and Simon Ballard at College Motors had one for sale Rob. might be worth contacting them (they advertise in Safety Fast) :thumbsu: Tylor will be racing a ZR at MGCC Brands Hatch next weekend 8-) Don’t know if they are aware of the continental prices you have to pay for these storage b...

Re: For sale: two MGF boot lids, one TF boot lid

Is a TF boot lid lot a tat less in weight comaired to the F’s? In that case you’d better swap it and have it on project Shed. ;)

You know, engine cooling should be better, the reason why we use the TF lid on our F’s

Re: Anyone have a picture of the Mk1 MGF B-pillar trim?

And do you really use the tonneau in an Mk1 F? I must admit, it is the best cover keeping a careful eye on the hinges and engine cover. Look at a Mk2 or TF and notice the elevation of the lid.

Re: Wanted or Info: spare wheel cover for frunk

I’m curious, after more than 22 years of MGF ownership and following fora, part sering companies and MGRover,I never ran into this before. So I’m interested as well, not for the F but for my TF.

Oeh, thank for the posting Rob! We just changed the seals on the longer drive shaft side of my ‘96 vvc F. As I managed to damage the rubber cover of that drive shaft doing 180-ish for over one hour (about 115mph) at the German motorway :) :) :) We used an upgraded type of seal to be sure it will la...

Re: Programming new remote

Buying a PScan could be cheaper as going to an original dealer with a T4. Allthough there are plenty of MG(T)F owners with their own T4 over here. But I know The Low countries are not around the corner for you. The P-Scan is very helpfull and will trace most of the usual isssues with your car, not a...

If not, time for an explore of the countryside at a leisurely pace  Just hope the mad Tunnel rush has subsided by then and the immigration controls can ...

Re: Replacing all subframe mounts

I have also read that once you get to (Trophy cylinder head, 52mm TB) + MEMS 3 + KMAPS that you'll need a higher pressure fuel pump so you can get more fuel in to make the bangs bigger :) A set of Lotus/Piper cams wouldn't go astray either. It's a deep rabbit hole as my son says. Worth thinking ove...

Re: Replacing all subframe mounts

I can’t help you on this but at the moment I have 6 solid mounts fixed and left the two at the rear od the sub frame as it was. Just for the same reason. Looking for a perfect combination of things to do at the rear to do these nasty mountings at the same time. With only 6 mounts installed there is...
