Removing MGF dampers done recently, but due to lack of space in the rear of the car, I used Craftsman grips on the top of the damper and a long adjustable to brace the grips for leverage, this helped with undoing the nuts quite easily. Thanks, I think it might be a poor earth to the engine / body- will check that out tomorrow, strange but problem just happened when I'd left the car for 2 days when I went on a business trip. Was fine before.

MGF 1800 starter problems
Have fitted a new battery and MGOC exchange NAD500 starter to my MGF 1800 (not VVC) but starter just clicks and doesn't turn engine over, bumps starts and runs but does not start from key, possible earth problem to engine? Haven't checked that out yet.
