Re: Insurance

Just a quick note that with absolutely no changes to the policy that Peter Best (certainly not the best) have hiked the premium by over 35% from last year. Phoned them and they won't budge on it, very poor performance on their part.

New knobs

Hi All, I've been picking up 3D CAD recently and my knobs were looking a bit worse for wear. Rather than just get some off the shelf items thought it would be different (and cheaper) to make my own. Since lots of cars now have knobs that rotate on the outside but leave the inside stationary that was...

Re: Immobiliser MGF 2001.. AHHHHHHHH

The AA bypassed an immobiliser for me in the past when it failed and I had Home Start, maybe worth a go if you have any breakdown cover?

Re: Immobiliser MGF 2001.. AHHHHHHHH

Think you will need to trace where the immobilizer black box is located then follow the plain black wiring from there to be able to locate where it's been spliced into the car loom to reconnect the original wires in order to bypass it.

Similarly I utilised the 'manual adjustment method' myself as couldn't get mine to line up either

Re: How to tow an MGF

Would at least use a solid tow single bar type of device not one of the stretchy rope ones due to the lack of brake assist. Wouldn't worry about the steering much, it's light anyway once on the move.

Re: MGF VVC uneven front brake pad wear

If the pads were new but not the discs it may be the disc face that is not level rather than the new pads so bedding in should sort it after a while.

Re: BLACK LEATHER TF SEATS FOR SALE

Hi Daz,

If still available would your friend would be willing to take £200? Just round the corner from the airport at work so would be able to collect no problem.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Pride of Longbridge 17

Hiya,

Sorry we didn't make the meet up, got stuck in the traffic and thought it best to head straight in to the park. Tried to locate the stand but the marshalls had no idea where you were in the area, still a good turnout and got some great ideas for changes to the TF.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Pride of Longbridge 17

Do you think you can accept a TF and a mad Mini on the stand, can bring both along then or is it strictly F's and TF's?

Re: Overheating again

That's exactly how mine behaved (having had the same work completed about 2yrs earlier) and I had hoped it was just the expansion cap. In my case it was HGF in the end, confirmed by sniffer test, just letting very small amounts of exhaust gasses past very slowly until it built up enough to cause an ...

Re: Hello

Hiya, Sorry it's a 135 in Solar Red. The original engine had suspected HGF (boiling out the pressure cap on a long drive despite a new cap and one of those cheap exhaust gas testing kits showed gasses present too) but already had this replaced only about 2 years ago so expected other issues in there...

Hello

Hiya, Recently purchased my MG TF and thought I would say Hi. The car is currently in need of some TLC and the guides on the forum have helped immensely with the initial repairs including removal\replacement of the engine and still a few bits left to sort. Also have an interesting Mini project that ...
