Re: Alarm going off in sunny weather...
Ok so, I've disconnected the sensor. Hopefully that'll be it. If so, I'll get a replacement. Alarm went off again yesterday. Today, I noticed the footwell and mirror lights came on while I was driving along. Pulled over, opened and closed the door, and they went off again. So I'm guessing a dodgy s...

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?
Today I disconnected the volumetric sensor, due to it flipping out in the hot sun. I also polished and waxed it. The bodywork, not the sensor.

LOL, yes, probably. I'll plug it back in, in October!BodgeItAndScarper wrote:I had the alarm randomly go off the other day while the car was standing in the sun. But don't worry, that's a problem that fixes itself pretty quickly, in the UK..

Re: Alarm going off in sunny weather...
Maybe your car stands in same position every day at that time and sun hits the middle between the seats where sensor is? You might be on to something there.... It always happens outside my house, around the same time, in the recent hot sunny weather. Recently had a new hood with the glass rear scre...

Alarm going off in sunny weather...
My alarm has been going off quite a bit recently for no apparent reason, usually in the morning around 9.30 to 10am, since we've been having this sunny weather. Has anyone here ever expeienced this? Something to do with the air in the cabin warming up maybe? Or something expanding in the heat? I'm a...

Re: Strange noise around 3000rpm
I put a K&N high flow panel filter in. I wasn't sure if it was in my head or not, but the noise is possibly a bit louder since that...talkingcars wrote:Any modifications such as intake, filter or exhaust?

Strange noise around 3000rpm
My 98 VVC F makes a deep vibration noise around 3000rpm, if my foot is to the floor. Doesn't do it if my foot isn't right down. Even backing off the accelerator slightly, the noise goes away. It happens in every gear. It starts around 2700 and goes away after around 3200rpm. It sounds like it's righ...

Leaky cam cover gasket
Like every K series car I've ever owned, my cam cover gasket is leaking. A bit from the front, and also into a couple of the spark plug wells. I'm guessing it's not so hard a job to DIY?

Re: Upgrading MGF speakers
Nice sound solution. DAB's a nice upgrade, too. Special aerial? Is that it on the vent? Yes, imo door cards/clips/screws are spawn of the devil!!! :-( For DAB needs a special aerial. I've got one, sticks to the windscreen, but I haven't bothered fitting that yet (I only really listen to music via B...

Re: Upgrading MGF speakers
Psh75 I'm interested in getting these for my TF. Please feedback about ease of fit, need for extra holes+adapter, sound etc etc... Like yours my '05 115 TF only has the basic mid-range door speakers, no T bars, and I would welcome tweeters as well as improved sound technology. Since the In Phase se...

Re: Colour polish, which one is best?
Sorry to say but colour polish will do nothing for your stone chips, it's good for hiding swirls or light scratches but if this is the case then I would recommend Autoglym Super Resin Polish which fills these in. You can buy a colour coded pen or contact Chipex who have an excellent kit colour code...
