Are you sure its not ignition. I had a misfire because the end of one of my HT leads was corroded. (as it went in to the plug top coil)

Did it throw up a P0130 fault code

Ok the missfire is gone with the sensor unpluged , but the idle is at 1200 rpm. MIL light came on again P0135 ,heater bank 1 . Time to change the Lambda sensor ,a 5 minute job . . . . I wonder how much a garage would charge to do it .

Cheers for that ,I will whip the engine cover off in the morning and disconnect the plug and put a meter on the sensor .I have a TF airbox and 52 mm TB coming plus a front splitter so lots to do .

The decat pipes are worth -3 bhp so a good way to reduce power on a VVC

The question is though which one of the 2 sensors ? And is this the cause of the missfire? as that happens before the MIL light comes on . Drives ok and then when you put some power on it hesitates ,if I back off and put the power back on it clears .

Ok it is P0130 ,and I have a ticking noise from around the multiplug midway down the inlet manifold.

HI I have a missfire on my 01 MGF mk2 1.8 mpi. 64k miles If I lift off and then put the power back in it clears but after a while the MIL light comes on ,steady not flashing. I have changed the cam position sensor for a new one , and I can reset the MIL light with a code reader , which comes up with...

The French have been using e10 for a few years and my 2001 1.8 mpi runs ok on it , you can smell the difference in the exhaust .

If only you know it is there , it would be handy for security checks on the campsites in Le Mans just pop the bonnet and show them we have no beer whilst revving the engine

Has any one tried to fix a shorter cable from under the dash ? rover 25 ,45 or other .shorter run and no need to open the engine cover/boot.

You can get silica cat litter ,just put it in your wife's best cotton socks

Inlet manifold gasket will give white smoke ,check the pugs as well for contamination.
