Re: Seat removal MGF
Thanks for that. I needed the space for an engine that I am rebuilding from a 1934 Austin.

Seat removal MGF
How do the seats come out? I can undo the two bolts at the front, but that is where I fail.

Brake lights staying on. MGf
The dash light and the brake lights are staying on. The brake switch is in the contact position when it should be off. Is there a relay in the braking circuit that might explain it?

Re: Headlamp Conversion RHD to LHD, Possible?
I realised my mistake and swapped over the ribbed lenses and reversed them. I addition, I installed a HID conversion to the main beam. I took it to the CT (controle technique) this morning and it passed.
Thanks for your support.

The light keeps lighting. Is it an easy job to fix?

Re: Intermittent starting
It always is in use and never has a chance for the fuel to get stale. I might try a tank of higher octane though. currently on E95. Someone suggested that the choke or its modern equivalent might be sticking, but I think that is wrong as it is the same with a hot engine.

Intermittent starting
Hi guys, I have a worry at the moment with my early VVC. The car will sometimes start and cut out at once. There have been times when I have had to wait before trying again. My first thought is for the fuel filter, but I have no records from the previous owner. It runs fine once it is started.

Re: MGf oil filler
It is as if there is a one way flap at the bottom as when I ran the engine it sucked it down with a big slurping sound. Stopped the engine and dipped again.

MGf oil filler
Topped up the oil this morning and mystified why the dip stick was covered in oil. What is the procedure? Should I run the engine first?

France barn find
Helping my mate fix the roof on his barn and noticed a car hidden under a tarp. Looks interesting I said. He seemed rather surprised and asked if I wanted to take it away. Of course, I snapped it up. Turns out to be a '96 MGF VVC with leather seats. Can't wait to get her home.
