Cadwell, Snetterton & Oulton Park all open for booking now and Castle Combe will be on sale soon - check out http://www.mgs-on-...

Re: Mg's on Track Silverstone GP, Tuesday 10th March 2015

If you are going to Stoneleigh on Sunday, come and chat to us on the MGs on Track Stand, Hall 3 (same hall as the F Register). Amongst others things, we have an MG SV on the stand.

Look forward to seeing you there on Sunday :thumbsu:

Re: Tailored mats

Newton Commercial sell bespoke mats for the F/TF in lots of colours with whatever edge colour you want, includes the MG logo and vinyl heel pad for the drivers side. I bought mine from them last year for a very reasonable price & quick turnaround time. The link is here: http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk/c...

Re: Low Water Level Warning for a TF

My MY03 TF didn't have one as standard and I just fitted the B&G kit for MGF - fits & works fine & saved my engine on the occasion of the underbody coolant pipes failing! As others have said I think it was around 04/05 when they were included in the standard spec.

Re: MGoT North Weald Today

An update for those of you who were asking about another day at North Weald. The good news is that we are arranging a second date for later this summer - most probably in September when we will return to North Weald again. For those of you who are not MGoT members, sign-up is free via our website ht...

Re: MGoT North Weald Today

All in all a fantastic day out and talk amongst ourselves of organising another. Either by trying to twist MGoT for an extra date or going direct to the company based at North Weald itself. Go on Ken, add your name to the list. And Lord Tolly for that matter! You probably won't need to twist our ar...

Re: New new speakers Mk1 MGF

The ones in your link will be too large for the standard speaker hole/mount in Mk 2 door cards. As far as I know, you will need 5" speakers and these will fit in the existing cut-outs in the door cards. I have a set of original TF tweeters if you want them - I replaced mine some years ago with Vibe ...

Re: Wanted: Engine Bay Steel Coolant Pipes

Hi, looking at the E-bay link, that is the engine bay steel pipe and is the only metal coolant pipe in the engine bay. You can get steel or stainless replacements from the usual suppliers, Rimmers or B&G for example this is the link to the page on Rimmers website: http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i...

Re: Possible Misfire?

I would put money on damp in the coil packs /HT leads from the sound of the symptoms, plus the MIL light which may well be registering a misfire. Depending on the cars service history, you may want to get it to a friendly garage that can read the codes or given that it symptomatically has a misfire,...

Re: MGF rear brakes Why are they so maligned?

I've just read this thread with great interest and wonder if I could pose perhaps another confounder? A number of us who regularly drive our cars on track with MGoT have noticed (mainly MGTF drivers) that our brake pad wear rate for the backs is hugely higher than the front pads. My own set up is on...

Re: Goodwood Breakfast Club Dates

They introduced this mid way through the season last year but in usual Goodwood style didn't bother making it known until you got to the gate & were refused entry. Sadly these have become too popular for me as I queued for 50 minutes to get in to one last year, so will be a bit selective as to which...

P0136 Error Code

Hi All, Have had a few issues with rough idle over the last couple of weeks and have so far replaced plugs, coil packs and HT leads on my 2002 TF. I also have a P0136 OBD II error code (the misfire code has now been sorted with the above replacements) and the idle is still high at around 1100 rpm an...

Re: Wiper motor link bar

Mine went last winter & I replaced it with the metal joint version which Rimmers sell and can highly recommend it. As others have said, you only want to replace this part once as it is a right royal pain to get the old one out and new one in.

Re: Everyday to track day

Agree with Rob entirely. With my TF (which gets to see a lot of track action), the things that made the biggest difference to the handling were poly bushes on the suspension coupled with X-power lowering springs plus the EBC grooved discs & decent pads. Both affordable(ish) upgrades and don't compro...
