Re: Mechanic needed MG TF North Devon
First bleed the coolant. Search Internet for “Bleed MGF coolant”
Next search for coolant leaks. The most common is the under car pipes to the radiator. For other pipes I use a chalk spray.

Re: Mgf boot rack fixing brackets
E-Bay have a basic no-lock kit for £18. The Black MGR Rack was off the shelf with a MG sticker and twice the cost. The other Boot Rack was a BMW/MG Stainless Steel Rack that bolts onto the boot lid with strengthening rails underneath. A lock on suitcase was also available. When removed, there are st...

Re: Wheel nuts?
The proper nuts are the original MGR as they have the floating cone as this aligns the thread of the bolt. This stops the bolt being side loaded to locate the cone in the wheel with the solid nut. Bin the supplied spanner. Buy a Quality 1/2 inch drive socket from Snap -On and a 18 inch Breaker Bar. ...

Re: Almost free. Hood frame
The Hardtop sits on the rear rail of the Softop. This rail must be fitted in order to clamp the HT. I got a damaged ST from a Scrappy, stripped the rail from it and job done. Having retired in 2001, we used the car extensively for trips around Europe (Spain,Portugal, Switzerland and Scandanavia). Co...

But !! Are they VOSA or the French equivalent Approved ???
In the UK nobody bothers but in France and particularly Switzerland they do.
The current new lights are made in Taiwan (originals being French). They are VOSA approved.

Re: Almost free. Hood frame
I keep a spare frame rear cross bar. When driving in southern Europe with temperatures in the upper 30s, I roasted under the black hood or toasted with it down even with the AC. The answer was to use the silver hardtop which reflects the sun but restricts the luggage space. Now I remove the hood, fi...

Re: Wiper motor
Not Guilty !! The car had a full MG Dealership Service History. We took it to Switzerland for a Skiing Holiday. Loaded to drive home, we had no wipers or screen wash with the snow coming down. The motor was seized due to water in it freezing Fortunately the current to the seized motor thawed it out....
