Re: Are Rusty Sills Sign Of Terminal Decay
If the sills are a bit rusty best to have a look underneath at the subframes and general condition.
All can be repaired but it will probably cost more than you bought the car for!

Re: Hardtops - OAP central
The hard top is designed to fit over the folded down soft top. So with the soft top removed you no longer have the seal and sponge that prevents water going down the channel. You could always gets full cover or a garage! Thanks. Ah, you mean the sponge around the rim of the soft top metal base, but...

Re: Rain Water in both footwells & beneath both seats.
For water getting in behind the seats, check that the sponge trim is not missing from the base of the hood, as this can be dislodged and lost when lifting the rear part of the hood to get to the engine. Water getting into the front under the dash can be many things, but if like mine the panel filler...

Re: Selling scrap cat
I have a sports cat in the garage you can have! I removed it from mine as I had trouble getting through the mot.
But I still had trouble getting through the mot for a few years until the sensor on the manifold was changed! (I didn't try it again as i got used to my miltek being a bit quieter)

Re: A new thought on overheating
Hi Bigfootmgf. Do you know why your head gasket went at 80,000? Yes the gasket went because It had been on the car for 15 years and I think it had something to do with a air lock after a coolants change but not certain! But at 15years I couldn't complain as that is along time compared to some and i...

Re: A new thought on overheating
In relation to your idea I have owned my car for over 20 years and 105000miles. It has never had overheating issues even when used regularly for track days. It's cooling system is standard. The head gasket has only gone once at 80000! I would suggest there is something else wrong with car if it over...

Re: A new thought on overheating
Hi my car doesn't overheat but does release pressure when removing the fuel cap and has been like it for the 20years I have owned it! They are designed to be under pressure as far as I know and have a release valve.
