welcome just be sure not to race it untill the oil is at 90 deg..... oh yeh and keep a savers pot for the headgaskets.....double check the timing belt and if you have no proof of last date id advice you to get it changed along with the tensioner and water pump....... but apart from that ...enjoy,,, ...

I do know the history of the new engine ive replaced ...it was my mates engine, he had the the belts water pump tensioner and oil change a year ago before some saxo wide boy thaught he could drive through the front of his mgf...... so i didnt see the sence of re doing them .......i recon that due to...

now the S/S coolant pipes are fitted , running and pulling good but not fine , temp fine oil pressure fine, AND dip the oil....i now have a lovley coffee colour sludge on my dipstick ...( no jokes needed ive been hearing them all day ) yes the head gasket has a leak, just to make sure i took off the...

hilly it is a tricky job well more fidly rather than tricky i never dropped my subfarme to replace them wheel off and grin and bear the sore nuckles .but since you got the old rust cancer, id defo go for the new subframe and replace everything bush wise..

ok well thats the engine out took about 8 hours as i never dropped the axle, i had allready split the head to have a look at the damage, WAW it was a right mess,so the head came up and out through the top, jacked the car up and dropped the bottom out leaving the gearbox in place.... now i have a rep...

all good ideas, called my local hss :rant: dont have one availible till next week , bugger that , ill give it a bash, ive got a lone of an Aframe , could use that to hoist shell up ????while i drop the axle onto the pallet jack...? ive got a new water pump and both cambelts , and the tensioner order...

yeh fingers crossed pete :L my mate has 600 turbo engine sitting in his garage, want 350 for it, if it fits in ill take it :) and keep quiet about it to the wife :twisted: :lol: so if anyone knows if it will fit in let me know . if not back in with the 1.8 vvc , just need to mind and replace timing ...
