Re: Headlight Glass
IMG_3430.JPG So the pre-MOT inspection said the reflectors were dim and likely to fail, so I bit the bullet and bought two new shiny units, complete with new rubber seals. So question. These seals - that seem to fall off and have no function on our older cars - where should they be placed now that ...

MGF scuttle panel screw sockets
Hi, anyone know how to secure the screws (not the covers) into the now-broken white plastic that pushes-tight into the rectangular hole in the body below the glass. My white plastic bits are all broken and there is nothing for the scuttle panel screws to bite into? From what I've seen these white pl...

Annual rear brake disks corrosion advisory
Hi, I seem to get an annual MOT advisory on both rear disks, and seem to be renewing the disks every two years. I suspect through low mileage, c.3000 per year, outside parking. Any tips / advice - apart from "use the car more" - about how to keep the rear disks shiny with a low usage car, even on sh...

Wanted: Replacement Mk1 centre gearstick console and gaiter fixing
Part FJN100160 no longer available (Rimmers listed part is NOT a replacement) and also need an unwanted mk1 centre console as the lugs to which the gaiter fixing fixes are snapped. If you have both of these, please pm me; reasonable price paid. Thanks

F rear sills weld - recommendation please?
I have an MOT advisory on both sides rear sills just in front of rear wheels; needs a new straight section for about 30cm but rust is also creeping up the arch by about 12cm. I have had two local bodyshops say they can do the straight section but can't do up the arch due to the shape of the curve of...

ARB droplink options
Hi, I have got an advisory on each side of my MGF front ARB drop links - the original bushes look like the grand canyon. What is the recommended best replacement? Shall I just go with original replacement but with polybushes too? Has anyone fitted the rose jointed part, as follows http://www.ebay.co...

Nothing to screw scuttle panel into
Today I took off the windscreen scuttle panel only to find a collection of self tapping screws just sitting there doing nothing. All of the white fixings underneath the panel into which you put the self tapping screws had split and were doing diddly-squat. Anyone know how to fix this, is there a par...

Re: Braided brake lines..upgrade?
Thanks Nick, yes I've just found this article on T-bar http://www.the-t-bar.com/forum/22-cjjs- ... how-to-fit where it says F hoses are 50% longer and the front fitment is different to the TF, so it's F hoses.

Re: Braided brake lines..upgrade?
Thanks Geoff, but Rimmers says part RP1034 for an F and RP1035 for a TF. So I now have a TF sports pack 2 red brakes on an F, so one end will be a TF brake and the other end is the MGF. Logic would say I go for a TF hose for the TF calliper but is the brake pipe end universal? Someone must have done...

Re: Braided brake lines..upgrade?
I've just bought second-hand 304mm front disks with the MG red pot front callipers (MGTF Sports Pack 2?). I want to buy some s/steel front hoses. Do I buy ones for an F or a TF to fit my MGF VVC - or are they the same hose?

Re: Brake upgrade advice on 15 inch wheels
Thanks all, those that have added the servo bracket; did you do this yourself following Rob Bell's page? I had a problem with a leak around the air intake and sealed the air intake above the glove box, so it sounds like I'll have to un-seal this to attach the bracket?

Re: Electric Mirror Switch and Blower Control
The fan speed thing sounds like the resistors have crumbled; you can find new coil resistors on eBay and are easy to fit if you can contort yourself into the passenger foot well, remove the airduct and undo a phillips screw or two and can do some basic soldering.

One horn switch on steering wheel not working
My left hand horn switch on the steering wheel has stopped working. The right hand one works. Is this an MOT fail? It seems you can't get to the switch once the airbag is removed, it is all encased in the wheel's moulding with red and black wiring poking through a hole. Does anyone know if you can j...
