Re: Hello fellow Yellow bellies!

Just a belated explanation regarding the name "Yellow Bellies" for Lincolnshire folks. It comes from the uniform the Lincolnshirenregement used to wear in years gone by. They wore a bright yellow bib on their uniform, hence the name. Jusst a reminder that there is an active MGCC natter at the Cross ...

Re: Have you exported a TF ?

Hi Tim,
I know of one 85th Anniversary model (silver with cassis stripe) exported to Australia late last year. It belongs to Robert Ingham from Yorkshire MGF. Is this the one you are aware of?
Cheers.

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Hi Tim, good to hear everyone arrived home OK. We arrived in sunny Cleethorpes at approx. 6.00pm on Sunday, no problems with the drive north. Just to add both mine and Eleanors thanks to all those involved in organising such a great event. We had a ball!! - now, what is the next run that we can fit ...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Hi Charless, just bought a GB sticker from Moss. They are chromed self adhesive metal letters. Not the cheapest one you will find (@£9) but looks quite reasonable when left on the car. See you in Abingdon, regards Ribena Rob Anybody got a spare/ideas-to-source decent GB sticker? I will be leaving it...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Hi all, well, received the CCT info in the post today. Car now run in and ready to go, Insurances etc sorted and I should now be able to adjust the headlight dipping! (though I may well loose some skin off my pinkies in the process :x !) Pretty much ready for the off. :thumbsu: One question, Tim sug...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

OK, thanks Sparky. Got the "PM" also. I get there eventually, just takes a little more time once you pass 3 score years!
Cheers.

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Sparky,
forgive my ignorance, but what is a "PM"? Do I need to go to the garage, or even the doctors!?
Cheers,
Ribena Rob.

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Many thanks for this Geoff. As I thought, should be OK with normal tyres (hopefully!) Not sure snow chains would help enhance the appearance of the 85th wheels! See you soon, Ribena Rob We are currently waiting to hear from the MGCC Switzerland for advice on tyres/chains and any other aspects that n...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Thanks Keith, it would help if someone can advise - I suspect the adjuster has been "cost engineered" out of the new models, our pals LE500 does not seem to have then either! Hi all, just one point you guy's may be able to help with. The owners manual for the 85th ann. model states that the headligh...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

One other thing.....
I have noticed a couple of posts on the Tecnhnical section regarding snow tyres. Am I correct in assuming that we shall not be expected to fit new wheels and snow tyres for this run? What are other planning to do in this regard?
Thanks,
Ribena Rob.

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Hi all, just one point you guy's may be able to help with. The owners manual for the 85th ann. model states that the headlight can be adjusted to dip either left or right by moving a lever in the lamp holder. However, when you try to find said lever, low and behold...nothing! Not for the first time ...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Hi Geoff, many thanks for your post and the welcome, very helpful. We were considering the possibility of an extra night in Geneva, but only if others are considering the same. Would not want to break up the merry gang too soon! We were in Geneva last June and Annemasse is not too difficult to find ...

Re: ABINGDON to GENEVA RE-RUN

Two more cars to add to the merry throng! We (my better half and I) are the ones with the Cassis 85th and our friends Dave and Ann are in an LE500. Tim has all our detail; CCT fully paid up and Premier Inn at Abingdon booked for 2nd. All that remains is to book the show tickets; finalise insurances;...

Re: Hello from another new owner

Hello Malcolm, from one new owner to another, welcome. Looks like you have had more snow than we have had in Lincolnshire. One tip a friend with a TF has passed on - if the thick snow melts and runs down the engine compartment vents, it can get onto the engine electrics and give starting problems. M...

Welcome to the forum from another Intense Cassis 85th and BGT owner! Nigel Hi Nigel, many thanks for the welcome. How are you getting on with the 85th? Any issues yet? I must admit, I do like the way it rides and holds the road, just need some decent weather to put some miles on. It has been quite ...

Hello from sunny Cleethorpes!

Hello all, I have just registered on this forum and thought it would be good to introduce ourselves. As you might have guessed already, my wife, Eleanor and I, live in North Lincolnshire. We are members of the Lincolnshire centre of the MGCC and we help to run the Swallow natter in this part of the ...
