Re: DOOR WATER SHEDDER-the ALTERNATIVE

Thanks for your comments, cococola. I forgot to mention that these storage boxes can be quite brittle, so care is needed when cutting out. I initially cut it out well oversize before using a very old hand fretsaw to cut to almost the correct size before finishing with files, sandpaper and razor plan...

DOOR WATER SHEDDER-the ALTERNATIVE

Hi guys, I thought I'd post my alternative to fitting new water shedders to the inner skins of the car doors. Having previously used "Sticks like Sh*t" to glue the shedder back on and being unable to make a tidy job of it I used some acrylic sheet from a large storage container available at your fri...

Re: Outragious emissions

Just another thought. Have you rechecked that your camshafts are accurately set and one not one tooth out?

Re: Outragious emissions

Phil - could only find one cps listed. I'm guessing you've put in a faulty camshaft sensor or plugged the wrong connector to it. Bad connection on sensor? Worth rechecking that you've not got any damaged pins.

Hi, You need to re-sync your fob. Do this by pressing either the lock or unlock button on the fob at least 4 times.

Re: RENEWING CLUTCH HYDRAULIC FLUID

Hi Robbo - I do the same syringe trick. I first used a syringe when replacing the old hydraulic fluid on my B (1972) with silicone, dot5.1 I think it is, having flushed the systems first with spirits - no, not vodka etc. My brake fluid was still pretty clean so I put the old fluid in a cleaned and d...

Re: BRAKING SYSTEM - YOUR THOUGHT & SUGGESTIONS, PLEASE

New rear discs now fitted together with HEL reinforced hoses and EBC Greenstuff pads. I found winding the rear brake calliper stiffer than expected. I didn't have a long nosed pair of pliers suitable but luckily the locking key from my small angle grinder (cheap B&Q jobby) was perfect for the job. M...

Re: RENEWING CLUTCH HYDRAULIC FLUID

Thanks Andy, thanks Chris. It's not urgent to change the clutch fluid but thought I'd do it while having just done the brakes. I will leave that job until I need to remove the engine access panel for some other job

RENEWING CLUTCH HYDRAULIC FLUID

Hi guys, Having just replaced the brake fluid and hoses (Hel) together with 280mm rear brake rotors (MGFMania), I want to replenish the clutch fluid. The car is on axle stands so I was wondering whether I can do the change from underneath while the car is raised up or do I have to come in from the t...

Re: heater resistor coils

The article I wrote re doing a self-build was too big for this site, however I was able to post on The T-Bar here:-

Hope it is of use to some of you out there.

Re: heater resistor coils

Hi Rob, I know you will put my article re building an ESC to control the blower motor at some stage but I thought I'd post the final circuit, overlay and components list here now as there is interest over on .org but I'm unable to upload to that site directly from my pc. I don't do photobucket and t...

Hi daz, thanks for the info. I didn't realise I could get single din units. Never really looked. Re: Reversing Camera & Monitor

Thanks scimitargtc & daz for your comments on the mirror/camera combo. This is the sort of feedback I needed and is much appreciated. The mirror/camera combo was looking interesting with not having yet another screen (monitor) to "park". When out of the island I fit a satnav as well as already havin...

Reversing Camera & Monitor

I am thinking of fitting a reversing camera to one of my cars. Anyone on here got any recommendations. And ones to avoid like the plague as well. Thanks in advance for all or any suggestions and comments.
