Re: Important Information - MGF25

Well, I missed MGF 20 because of illness - so this will go into the diary. Gives me a finish date for getting "Stripey" back into a condition where I wont need to park her out back so she is not seen.

Steptronic Help

Bit of a longshot this. The 'bung' on my Steptronic gearbox dipstick has disintegrated with age- the bits I have are held in place with masking tape in roughly the correct position! Could any Steptronic owners out there do me a favour. Could you measure the length of the gearbox dipstick from the ti...

Still Here

Hi All,
It's been a while, but I am still about....and I still own my MGF Racing Vintage. She is suffering a little from neglect, but I intend getting her back on the road this summer and get a few hood down runs in if I can. Anyway, just popped in to say Hi. All the best. Dave

Re: Does anyone use the Eesex forum ?

Been a while since I have been on here. Sad about the Essex scene - very active in the days of the Essex Roadsters, seems less so since the 'takeover' and name change to Essex MGF. I don't know why this is - personality clashes and cliques I suspect.

Re: MGF20 - Do you have a Feature Car?

Hi Tim,
Have sent you a PM - but it is unlikely that I am going to be well enough to travel tomorrow due to complications with my long term health conditions. Sorry to let you down.

Re: MGF20 loudest exhaust competition

Should we form a breakaway Noisiest Exhaust Group dwkmgf ? "The Peoples Democratic Noisiest Exhaust Freedom Fighters" , it would exclude Essex members (except you). Rule 1 . . there are no rules Rule 2 . . see rule 1 Who knows where this might lead ! . . . . the Who's Got The Tattyist Soft-Top Cup ...

Have to agree with you Paul. The only level playing field is as it came out of the factory - which will only produce the quietest loud exhaust competition ever.

Re: MGF20 - 1st & 2nd August 2015

Thanks Keith, I am not sure i want a BAS Hood, as i have seen some samples of werry bad quality from them. Does any one know other who can fit hoods, or know car-hood.co.uk, or someone else who can do it, when we are over? Also, need new seats, seems MGF center are out of business, who else can sup...

Re: MGF20: Return to Geneva motor show 9-16th March 2015

Just wanted to let you know I am not interested in going any more - the lengthening of the run and the additional costs this will involve I am afraid puts the trip beyond my means.

Less than a year ago that the last HWH Essex Roadsters meet happened. Some of us kept going - some didn't.

Re: MGF20 Return to the Geneva motor show 2015

Forgot to add - you really don't want to do the last weekend. Kieron and I flew out a couple of years ago for the last Saturday, couldn't get anywhere near anything, the halls were absolutely packed and most of the good stuff ie the concepts had been taken away. midweek is best I think.

Re: MGF20 Return to the Geneva motor show 2015

Winter tyres and chains were not needed 5 years ago - so don't see why they would be needed this time. Didn't need them for the the run to Belgium for TF10 either. By the way - interested in going, need to know dates so I can book the gearbox in for a service!

Re: New parts still being made (?)

Don't even go near COSHH if you don't like paperwork (I had to trace the carsinogenic effect of every item in the garage, there were 144 of them and in ppm Tippex was the most dangerous !!) COSHH is really quite simple - its not how dangerous it is, it is how you are exposed to it, the length of ti...

That's great Rob. For interest I have virtually a complete set of MGF/TF articles from Safety Fast, MG Enthusiast and Enjoying MG - including the MGF Register write ups. I am currently cataloguing these by type of article, author and month published. Will be happy to share my spreadsheet with the Re...

Should be quite a gathering at Hopwood. I'm meeting up with Jan and the guys and gals of MG Worldwide from 8.15am - looking to leave there around 9am I think. Anyone travelling the M11/A14/M6 route to Hopwood want to meet up, drop me a message and a meeting point. I'm leaving Bishop's Stortford arou...

Well that was a surprise - thank you very much for the nomination and the award. :D

Keith if you like - bring it to Silverstone. I'll be there on the Saturday.

Or Pride of Longbridge - should be there for that
