I know what you mean about the cost.
All that fun... the having the timing chain tentioners done on my Jag costs more than an entire car!

Re: Brand New MGF Bodyshell on eBay
Its nice and clean... which is about the only thing its got going for it. You would have to be a loon and a full on fanatical freak to pay that much for some that is included with every working MGF you buy.... if you want one, buy a working one, strip it down and off set/load the cost by selling the...

A airbag saved my life one morning last summer...
Its one of the few areas on a car I wouldnt chance with second hand parts, never mind a bit of DIY

Re: plastic or mesh windstops, which is best?
I would think if your worried about stuff like a bit of broken plastic behind your head in an MGF you might just as well save your cash as buy a Land Rover Defender with all the checker plate trimmings! I quite like the look of that cheaper one too... Sure it aint as pretty as the others, but it don...

Re: 400 Miles from a full tank, is this normal?
Having had the run Ive just come back from I would say if you keep her between 2 & 3k RPM then 400 miles on a tank is easy... Tesco @ 130 per liter She already had about £20 of juice in the tank, I added another £40 then £20 and at the end of the trip of just over 355 miles theres still enough juice...

Thats what I thought too MurryG.
Touring, its all about the journey, especially in an MGF...
I couldnt do it in an MGF, I would always be worrying if we've got enough luggage.

Black is good colour, with deep red interior.
Silver is good too... can be black or red or a mix of both inside.
Best colour i think is Trophy 160 yellow with a pair of black stripes stripes with black and yellow interior
