Re: 2017 SAIC design challenge winner – it’s a roadster!

Well, Col, for the time being it’s just a design concept, but I think it’s very important that (I think for the first time since the takeover in 2007) a roadster concept has been officially released. So there is still hope that the MG spirit has not died completely. :thumbsu: I think SAIC will wait ...

2017 SAIC design challenge winner – it’s a roadster!

2017 SAIC DESIGN International Challenge winners! The 2025-MGA is a remodel of the much loved MGA roadster, apparently showcasing the beauty of modern technology in car design whilst honouring the historical heritage at the heart of the MG brand. http://westdollar.com/sbdm/auto/news/1737,20171023787...

Re: Engine management light

Someone suggested disconnecting the battery and make a circuit by holding - and the + leads together thus clearing the memory … Errm, no. And it might hurt, as you never know if any devices (aftermarket radios) have a buffer battery that could suffer. Go for James’s offer and have the beast “PScann...

Re: Engine management light

If the issue making the MIL come on is solved, the light should usually go out after 5 decent running circles. The fault codes are not cleared, though, they will be stored in the fault memory as “historic”. If it stays on, there might be some other problem, so a PScan session is highly recommended.

Re: Changes to French Speed limits

Thanks for the info, Bruce! :thumbsu: This comes quite handy indeed for the Rhein Tour in August, as parts of it will go through France (Alsace region). I’m always puzzled why we can't get equal speed limits throughout Europe, like 30 (20) in living areas, 50 (30) on through roads, 90 (55) on highwa...

Air con cars have two fans fitted, along with a quite funny circuit to run them.

Re: Over revving

A quite typical fault, Charles, and probably to be seen more frequently in the future, as our cars – and their electrical intestines – get older. I had that same fault on my first MGF, you may remember my tales of woe. In fact I could rev up the engine to 2.5k by just willing the wires on the TPS. A...

19-26 Aug 2018 - MG Rhine Tour

Hi everybody, as had been made public at this year’s Niederrhein Tour, it was meant to be the last weekend event as usual. Nevertheless, I implied that I already had something different on my mind. Well, now this has been finalised and here we go: It will be a Grand Tour, a one week drive, going alo...
