Resetting the Service Interval Indicator LE500 and new TF 13
Now that my LE500 is out of warranty I am wanting to find out how to reset the service interval display myself. I previously asked MG and they said it had to be done either by T4 or GDS (I think that is what they said - whatever GDS is lol) Its a simple display that starts off at 15000 and counts do...

Thankfully a happy ending (as long as the inspection checks out)
Made me laugh at the thought of the Milltek marks on the front of the car

Re: TF Front Mud Flaps now on Sale
I was keen on buying these when it was first announced a while back that they would be re-manufactured but now I am not so sure. I just don't think the TF suits mudflaps and besides I am not travelling the same grit infested country roads I used to travel on.

Re: Very dissapointed
I wasn't slighting the reliability of the new TFs but it is poor for a dealer to have one in the showroom with rusty grills was my point, we may still get one yet. I don't get this with dealers, especially with used cars - they have them on display with defects but will happily put them right when ...

Re: Very dissapointed
I had forgotten about my grilles until reading this thread. Mine started to show signs of rusting at 2 years old - the rear grille especially as it takes a pounding from road grit - there is often some small pieces of grit sitting around the back bumper 'shelf' I know I have a warranty but to be hon...

Re: MGTF LE500 laquer problem
How exotic is ASBO Orange paint? Just about every other manufacturer had it as a choice for a short while before it became unfashionable - only MG Motor seemed to get it wrong. Of course the Radiant Red on my 2009 TF135 also chipped off at the drop of a bird poo and a warranty respray failed to get...

Re: double locking on MGF
The problem is almost certainly in the drivers door microswitches, not the passenger door. It is quite common in older cars and well written up in the archives here and elsewhere. If the switches don't respond to careful treatment, it may need another drivers central locking motor. Why do people de...

Re: That old immobiliser thing - but with a new twist....
I must check that wrong number thing - I received a dealer pack with my MGF when I bought it s/h 4 years ago, in among the documents from the dealer was the EKA code. When I got a new fob programmed more recently they guy doing the programming said to take a note of the EKA number showing on his com...

Re: Oh B****r!!!
Initial estimates for the repairs are appearing to be around £5k, and they apparently consider anything over 40% of value to be a write off....which means that we have a max value of around £12.5k to play with but that is a max, with 28k miles on the clock that knocks us down from that £12.5k to ne...

I understand you need to swap the alarm control unit and engine ECU as they are matched pair, then both fobs will work.

I wonder if the yellow dot is more for future reference to act as an easy reference when this recall has been carried out rather than any cars having this dot just now?
Thankfully mine has the stainless rivets and sandwich construction on the bottom arms so should be OK

If only you had known of this when Steve had his grey LE500 - you could have matched them up - hindsight eh  I had a look at steves LE500 at one of the TECH DAYS and was convinced that the two colours were the same, to the naked eye anyway. No doubt if I put the LE500 bumper on the difference ...
