Re: Driving in France (again !)
Not a great loss to either party. And it's "fewer" not "less". One fewer pedant with so much to do and so little time driven to irritability by Euro legislation.Geoff.F wrote:That is one less irate English Tourist on the French roads. Not a great loss.

Re: Driving in France (again !)
Here we have a repeat of a favourite topic but there's been a new twist. It now appears that the breathylysers we have to carry in our cars now have to be approved as acceptable by the French Police and calibrated to actively turn red at the French driving limit. Here's the report : The Institute o...

Re: Wanted: full (!) tonneau cover
Hmm, headrests, windstop, door tops, this can get messy  I have a black one that I used on my old steppie, but unfortuneatly, you also need 2 lugs that replace the screws in the vents at the front of the windscreen. sadly, these went with the car and I have not been able to replace them since. ...

Re: Wanted: full (!) tonneau cover
Erik, The photo you provide is what used to be (in the old days) a full tonneau cover. Time was, of course, when folding hood mechanisms were either bulky or slow and complex, or all three! For example I used to run a Frogeye Sprite on which you completely removed the hood and hoops and the tonneau ...

Coolant levels/HGF etc: a general question
I think I've read enough to understand that the HGF issue is partly down to the design of the K series engine and the relatively low volume of coolant in the entire system. (Nothing to do with GSD3s, clear engine covers or door card LEDs apparently?) There seems to be enough excitement generated abo...

Re: Low mileage essential servicing query
Recently I bought a 10-year old F with a very genuine 21500 on the clock by two careful owners. The car had been serviced according to mileage rather than age. I talked to one of the well regarded mobile mechanics, MGRover Solutions, whose advice was a full C Service cambelt and water pump and a com...

Re: Aftermarket front fogs - and OEM switch?
Given that the ones in the link have clear glass lenses rather than etched/moulded with a pattern, I'm inclined to suggest that they could well be driving lamps with either a long range pencil beam or more likely a wide spread of light than a pukka fog lamp which should have a very shallow, flat-top...

Re: Who is buying, and who is sitting it out ?
Saturday in Bury St Edmunds would appear back to normal: Easter cold weather, no queues at the filling stations, Tesco back in supply.
I have to travel to work so I need fuel, therefore I continue my normal pattern of topping up when down toward the half mark.
