Re: MY 2005 TF 160s

I have an MY05 TF160, the chrome '160' wing badges are factory fit. The rear 'TF' badge is also different on the MY05 as it has a chrome letters fitted in the center of the car. On earlier cars the TF badge, and the engraved 160 badge on 160's, are satin silver and fitted below the LH tail light. Ac...

Re: Air intake identification help

It doesn't look too dissimilar to the Pipercross Viper Induction Kit, but could equally be a cheaper copy.

Re: Put the cat out

Personally I would avoid the cat XPart/Motorclan sell, P/N WAG000671SLP as from my experience the longevity is not good. I came to the conclusion SLP stands for 'short life part'. XPart were selling them for around £150 last year, but I see they have now upped the price to match the £300 Rimmers hav...

We'll be there Geoff.
The register stand is in hall 2a, which I think is a new hall that's been built on the hardstanding between halls 2 & 4.

Re: Problem with fuel overflow at my Mk1

The difference in the colour of the seal rings is because the filler cap on pre 2000 cars is different to post 2000 cars.
The later caps are deeper and have a different seal.

Re: Help - TF boot lid brake light replacement

Another option is to remove the centre brake light before the test as they are not a legal requirement.

Re: MY 2005 TF 160s

I've got an MY05 TF160 that I have owned from new. The chrome 160 wing badges are original and only appear on the 2005 model. 2005 cars also have a different 'TF' lettering badge on the rear. On earlier cars the badge is satin silver, and located under the LH tail light, but on 2005 TF's the badge i...

Re: TF subframe mount rust issue

Have a look at Bilt Hamber Deox-Gel. Its a rust removal gel that can be used on parts that can't easily be removed or are hard to reach. You have to apply the gel in a thick layer and stop it drying out (covering the area in clingfilm works). Depending on the level of corrosion it may need to be lef...

Re: TF Tyres

Yes, the ZE310 replaced the ZE914, which it turn replaced the ZE912. The ZE310 is the current model so should be the most widely available.

Re: TF Tyres

They will likely be either Falken ZE912's or ZE914's. The current model suitable for the F & TF is the ZE310 which was released in 2019.

Re: standard air filter model change

I believe the change to the larger filter and airbox coincided with the introduction of MEMS3 in 2001.
Certainly the MGF trophy uses the larger filter, as does our 2001 MPi Mk2 F, which is MEMS3.

Pub meet - Sunday 17th October 2021

Now things are beginning to return to normal and we are allowed to get together again, I am thinking about restarting our monthly meet. Based on feedback, I think its would work better to move to a Sunday lunch meet, but the only small downside to this is I will need to book a table and so need firm...

MGF 25 Regional parking

As you may have already seen, The MGF Register are offering parking areas for each region at MGF 25, so that members from each region can park together. As the regional rep for both the Heart of England and Leicestershire regions, I am now looking to start collecting details of those interested in j...

The materials used are not unusual for an aftermarket exhaust, so I suspect its probably one that has been made up by a custom exhaust manufacturer.

Re: Hi.

Colin, firstly welcome to the MGF Register. With regards to the clutch release arm, for a number of years several suppliers have been offering an arm with a grease nipple in the end that allows it to be lubricated, not sure how your searches managed to miss them. An examples here:- https://www.mikes...
