Re: WANTED...Trophy Rear Hydrasgas Sphere..

Here you go. They were bought off a dealer at Silverstone a few years ago and the new ones have "Trophy Rear" written on them with RPJ100010. If you're interested get in touch.

I've got some spheres lying in my garage and I think some of them are Trophy rear ones. I'll have a look and get back to you.

Wheels and Seatbelt Tidies For Sale

After nearly 10 years of owning my MGF, I sold it last weekend. I'm cleaning out the garage and I'll be wanting rid of some bits and pieces. Here's a couple and I'm sure that there will be more to follow - 1) 5 x 17" Mike Satur Trophy style wheels with tyres. The tyres are Toyo Proxies and while the...

Re: mike satur roll hoops

Mike will supply you with a template. Use the holes for the studs at the back of the T-Bar to position the template, then drill small holes through the trim where you want the centre of the bars to go. You then use a hole saw to take them out to the correct size. Another useful tip is to use seals f...

Re: Uncle Jack Turner Dies today

Sorry to hear your sad news Dave. I think that I told you before that I nearly bought one of your uncles cars which was based on a Midget/Sprite. Unfortunately, the salesman couldn't get it started so I walked.

Re: Hard top blistering!

I've seen blisters like that on an MGB that had a respray. Has the hardtop possibly been painted black at some time and that's what's causing the problem. Hard to tell from the pictures but the finish looks a little "orange peel'd". The finish on my hardtop looks much smoother.

Re: Hard top blistering!

By the way, boring question - I love the picture of your car - but how do you keep your brake discs looking so shiny and new?! I have new discs and they've been going slightly rusty. Even after a good clean of my alloys with wheel cleaner, which also cleaned the brake calipers (which have then star...

Re: Hard top blistering!

What colours are your hardtops that are blistering - have they been painted? I've had my black Heritage one for about 10 years now and it's fine. Like Rob I hardly ever use it now and it's been hanging in the garage for the last 3 years without going on the car. http://www.csmgf.co.uk/cars/david_cle...

Re: very light on the front while driving

Got to agree with Rob. Fitting a splitter to a standard car doesn't cure the problem, it just masks it. My car is lowered with adjustable shockers and "Toe In" settings and it's as solid as a rock at high speeds. I've a splitter fitted but only because someone gave it to me for nothing. It didn't ma...

Re: MG TF Hard Tops

A number of years ago I painted my windscreen surround black to match my hardtop. I tried to find out what the correct colour was that MGR used but had no luck. Eventually, I used a BMW black working on the premiss that as long as I knew what it was I could always touch it up. If I were to go for a ...

As far as I'm aware none of the MGF or TF models ever had VVC badges. You can buy the individual letters on Ebay to make up VVC

Rich,

I'm sure you're right about changing all of the affected electrical bits on the car, but at what price? When I said "If this is the case I don't think that there is anything that you can do to solve the problem." I meant leaving the car as standard.

Re: Earlie MGF 1996 Volcano Red - mobile phone interference

Since your car is an export model do you know if it uses the same remote control frequency as the cars exported to Japan (315MHz rather than the UK 433MHz). Quite a number of these cars were imported into New Zealand and I've heard of people having problems with mobile phone and radio masts. Cars wo...
