Hi Trunkster. I had my rear screen replaced by an upholsterer in Loughborough. Worthwhile just ringing around a few places. Mine was £70. I had an Auto Glym wash and proof kit given to me and it seemed to work pretty well. As far as insurance goes, I've used Chris Knott and Adrian Flux, but you have...

Don't know where you're located Bula, but if you have no joy with this, I have a spare column & ecu here.

I wonder why ' talkingcrap' has deleted all his posts?! because I was talking crap, you see, I don't know much about Vauxhalls and haven't driven any since my dads 1.6 Cavalier 20 years ago. But you've done me a favour, I shall save my breath and let those who do know about MGs do the posting. ;-) ...

Anyhow......passed the MOT today. Took it for a spin after and the stainless exhaust sounds excellent.

What's this pscan thingy? Take it its some sort of scanner for MGs, but it's not one I've heard of before.

Re: Mems3 mapping
Thanks for the offer Rob. Took the Z&F route and glad I did. The engine now runs a lot smoother and you can certainly feel the extra power. Apparently also, you get 10% better fuel consumption too.....although as I only did 40 miles last year, I don't think this will save me a bundle!! :-) Sent from...

Mems3 mapping
Or......you could just make a mountain out of a mole hill. I'll try and make this as simple as I can. If you put the cars VIN into the ecu that is in the car, if it gets stolen and the oik grinds the VIN off of the car body.....there is a record of it in the ecu so it can be returned to the owner. S...

Re: Mems3 mapping
Don't think it's being done via a VIN as such. When I had the Vectra mapped my spare ecu was also given my corresponding VIN so everything was totally matched.

Re: Improving rear braking the simple way - edited
I use Greenstuff on my 200bhp Vectra. Swear by them and I've tried various pads in the 11 years I've had the car. Cost a bit more, but are low dust and give a massive increase in braking.

Re: Mems3 mapping
Yes, think that was my bad. The car has the Pektron on it and the oval key fob. The 160 ECU had the 5as with the square fob and I was getting it all mixed up! Been one of those weeks.

Re: Mems3 mapping
Well, spoke to Trophy Cars today who said my Pektron couldn't be matched to my 160 ecu, but they did make an offer on the car. Then spoke to Mark at Z&F who said no probs and I also settled on having the re-map done at the same time. Costs a bit more, but lots less hassle for me. Sent from my iPhone...
