Re: Put the cat out

Hi. Cats seem to be a total nightmare. In the end I called Mike and bought a cat and Daytona. Despite calling late in the morning it arrived next day. Told my wife it had to be that one because it is stainless and has oval pipes so looks original. When I compared the tail pipes the old original woul...

TT MK9 Exhaust

Hi. Really like the look and the sound. Has anyone had any experience with this one?

Thanks

Re: Put the cat out

Hi Rob. It's not the heat shield. The cat is starting to break down in the ceramic. I was quoted between 90 and 250 for a cat. I went Rimmers and fingers crossed. I also need to change the back box. Again I went standard based on budget and wanting to keep oval pipes to preserve the look at the back...

Put the cat out

Good news is that today Midnight got her MOT but the bad news is that the original cat is starting to rattle so doubtful it will get another. I know there has been debate on cheap cats on the bay. What is the latest advice on where to buy a new one? At Rimmers what is Homologated apart from more exp...

Re: NC500

Hi. Thanks for the advice. We are tied to July if we go this year. So it might have to wait.

Good tip on the hood. I have been looking at replacement due to gap at B pillar and its 25 years old.

Re: NC500

Hi Did the distance include getting to the route or did you divert off? I assumed it was 500 miles all the way around. Planning to do the 500 next summer. Might try and leave the luggage rack at home. I assume you had to do some reversing. Which way did to go round? Ash Sent from my S22 Ultra using ...

CD43 Enters the 21st Centuary

Hi After well over 10 years of searching for a CD Changer for my CD43 Business Radio I have finally found a solution. Being pretty ham fisted I got an audio technicial to fit it - took him well under 30 minutes including the testing - getting the cables in was a little tricky (the bulk) and he had t...

Re: what have you done on your mgf today?

Got my car out of the garage where its stored and brought it home for the first time in 3 years. Just made it to the garage for fuel (I keep a log for fuel which is why I know its 3 years) with the needle in the red. Spent a happy afternoon washing, polishing and waxing. I need to take 6 photos to t...

Re: CODE WAIT

Hi. BMW owned MG ROVER when the CD43 was fitted. They also fitted to their own vehicles. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0366/7093/files/BMW_CD43_Owner_s_Manual.pdf?14122857630486289246 So search for BMW CD43 or use the link. I am seeing an auto engineer to try and upgrade it for modern requiremen...

Hi. They do unless they came out after project drive which was a cost saving idea from MG. Amongst other cuts they removed one of the horns. Ash

Make sure the one in the pictures has the locks with it. The covers can go missing easily.

Could this be it? On B+G website.

Good point on the bars. They are attached with rivets I think.

Re: Original MGF Luggage Carrier

Hi I would register on some Z3 forums and see what's out there. I can remove the rack and put in 4 blanks to fill the holes and they came from a Z3 forum. I got the boot drilled by an engineering firm locally. They worked it out from one picture of the inside of the boot. You are welcome to measure ...

Hi Andy
Do you mean the black one that clips on or the silver one where you drill the boot? The latter was also used by BMW on the Z3. Ash

Re: engine cut out at 50mph, now nothing

Hi. Great news and really well done. I got my car yesterday after 3 years. Nearly 27 years ago I described the MGF drive in one word "WOW". Drove mine for the first time in 3 years and still the same word to describe it. I think part of it is the smell. I do admit to using the hard top but only beca...

Re: engine cut out at 50mph, now nothing

Hi. The last time my F cut out at 50 it was on a two-way road. Managed to get into a lay by using the starter motor. AA came and told me they don't like MGFs. He put some fuel in but it wouldn't start. Non-start is normally fuel or electrical. Turned out it was the ignition module. The engineer put ...
