Re: The 100K Club

Got the Cambelt and water pump done when I got the car 87k on the clock, I would assume on this sort of milage the Head Gasket must have done ages ago? I will get the oil and filter done every 6000 miles?

MGF Tyre Pressures

Hello All. Going by forum MGF Owners own experience what is the best Tyre Pressure for an MGF I know the Manual says 26 psi front and 28 psi rear, I have found 31 rear and 29 front pretty good.

Re: Gruffolo the MG

If you are gonna keep the car then all the things you have spent money on are good investments, you should get another 30k out of the engine. When it's time for an engine change that costs about £1000 ish ( £400-500 for a decent engine then another £500 for parts and Labour ) The prices for MGF's ar...

Re: MGF Engine Milage

I'm a new owner (or I hope to be by the end of the week) of my first MG. The car has covered just over 73k and the service book says the cam-belt and head gasket were replaced at 46k in 2007 so this would mean (I assume) that the cam-belt needs replacing again. Can I ask roughly, how much would it ...

Re: MGF Engine Milage

;) Thanks for the replies and wise words of advice. The car has had a new Radiator, New Cambelt and Water Pump and Oil and Filter have been changed. It's on 87K so it's fair to assume the Head Gasket has been done???

Re: MGF Servicing/Repairs York Area.

:D thanks for the advice. The car has 87k no service history after 24k the car looks like it has been very well looked after. I'm guessing at some stage the Head Gasket must have been done. I''ll get the cam belt done and leave the head gasket. If the head gasket does fail what are the implications?...
