FOR SALE: Mgf 1.8 VVC spares or repair

P reg Volcane orange jap import. Had new Cambelt, water pump and Multi layer HG two years ago and it's done 10k miles since then. Car runs great but It's failed its MOT on a ball joint, headlight, break lines corroded and a seized caliper. Nothing too hard to fix but I was planning on trading it in ...

Re: A-Plan insurance

Well I rang them and paid over the phone. If they had said send a cheque I would have taken a bag of 10p pieces to their office  I'm getting another car soon, possibly. Rover 75 diesel, so I need my prof of no claims so it was not worth arguing. It was probably just the one stroppy girl I s...

A-Plan insurance

Hi all I'm not having any luck with my MGF right now and it's off the road for the foreseeable future. So I call the insurance brokers A-Plan in Bletchley who could not be more helpful when I was buying insurance and tell them I need to cancel the policy until I decide what to do. The rather surly y...

Re: MOT failed due to rear shocks

Got them replaced today and the car is noticeably stiffer and better mannered even at low speeds and I have a new MOT with no advisorys, so that's all good.

Re: MOT failed due to rear shocks

Fingers crossed that'll sort it. To be honest, the shocks do last a long time on an MGF - probably because they don't do that much work: much of the damping is done by the hydragas sphere itself and the damper is there to tune rebound stiffness. But the bushes do degrade badly. Mike Satur does PU b...

MOT failed due to rear shocks

Not been on for a while due to bad non car related stuff but the dreaded MOT has forced me to pay the car some attention. The car would have sailed through with no advisories but both rear shocks are "severely degraded". The garage is only charging me £138 to replace them so its getting done tomorro...

Re: Free Seats & Door Cards

That driver seat is much better than the one I have, the piping has split over three inches now.

I just need the driver seat though. Did you want to split them or just need them out of the way?

Re: Volcanic orange MGF VVC

Bumping as the car is running sweet since the new coil pack and I took it on a 200 mile drive two weeks ago and finally used the full rev range :D It runs like a dream over 4000 revs and I would keep it but I have another car in the pipeline so I need to sell this.

Make a sensible offer.

Re: Disaster strikes already

Mine went up in steam within the first 48 hours.

Another pipe went after a few days of getting it back but since then it's been Ok. It got me through Winter no problems and its all good now.. Apart from a Squeeky rear corner and the coil going tits up a few weeks ago.

Thanks.

My Brother lives in the US so maybe he could post me some. Otherwise at least I know the local tyre place will not need to get in the engine bay.

Air con recharge

My air con works but could be cooler. Anyone know how easy it is to get to the real ent pipes to recharge the refrigerant?

I am thinking of taking it to a Kwik Fit just to see what happens :D

Re: Got my first MG wave! Grey mg tf

Got a wave off an MGB roadster and flashed a burgundy F

I have flashed an MGF in the Citroen which must have caused the driver some confusion.
