Just watch out the garage doesn't do a DIY skim with a rotary sander as happened to me!!

This will tell you how to remove the door card, you can then remove the bit of trim you mention, from behind, quite easily.

I have a TF back box with standard finishers for sale, the bits that bolt on after the Cat... The exhaust has only covered about 800miles when it was taken off, for a miltek.
