Re: EPAS Problem

I connected to an LE500 yesterday. The engine revs signal from the EPAS is reading double what the engine ECU says. My current working theory is that this is nothing to do with the SAIC MGF/TF, but more to do with pre MEMS3 and post MEMS3. My understanding is that pre MEMS3 the EPAS ECU got an engin...

Re: P0601and ECM

Firstly, I have had a customer on my support forum report good results replacing his Continental ECU with an MG Rover ECU, and then remapping it with SAWS. My understanding is that the MG Rover ECU doesn't necessarily need to be a specific model (though it can't be from a Rover 75/ZT or Freelander) ...

spare Continental ECU from SAIC car?

Has anyone got a spare SAIC engine ECU that they could sell (or gift :thumbsu: ) me? I don't have one for pscan development. I don't even really care if it works on a car (so a faulty one might do). As long as the diagnostic protocol works that good enough for me. Also has anyone got a list of part ...

request to pscan owners with EPAS

Yesterday I pushed out an update to version 042A. This version has a completely new protocol stack inside which I needed to do for a future feature that I'm planning. As a result I tested every single MG, Rover and Landrover ECU that I have to make sure that nothing stopped working. Unfortunately I ...

request to pscan owners with MEMS3 cars

I have been playing with a Rover 75 MEMS3 ECU (from a 1.8 K series). It doesn't seem to like pscan connecting to it in ISO mode but much prefers BMW mode. As far as I can tell the other cars with MEMS3 seem to be happy enough with BMW mode so I am thinking of making this the default. Please could th...

Anyone near Central Cheshire?

Someone in central Cheshire (near Northwich) made this video about pscan https://youtu.be/WkeSSXXAuVU He has told me that if anyone wants a demo of pscan on an F or TF and doesn't mind him videoing it then he would do that. Now is your chance to be famous and it would help me out too. Please get in ...

Re: EPAS Problem

I no longer have access to the local MGF that I used when I developed the EPAS code. It belonged to a fellow just down the road but last year he sold it. Can anyone else confirm the same problem with live data on EPAS ? Is pscan showing double the revs? or the actual revs plus 1000? Fixing this in t...

calling StepSpeed owners

pscan now has extensive coverage of the StepSpeed transmission. The details are here http://pscan.uk/features/cvt.html This was reverse engineered from a T4 but it was a bit of a nightmare because there was some conflicting data on the T4 live data screens. As an initial offering pscan can only be a...

Re: pscan woes

If you have two pscan programs running at the same time they used to fight each other to gain access to the hardware. The result was that the bit where is says "Select Port Here" the available port would start flashing in both of the two. In the current version 0424 this problem has gone, sorry I ca...

Important notice to all owners with Pektron cars.

All. Firstly I'm not sure what the easiest way to tell if your car has a Pektron SCU or the old 5AS. The easy way that I know is that a 5AS car has the rectangular fob with two round buttons; whilst a Pektron has the round three button fobs. If you have a car with 5AS you can ignore this post. For p...

Re: "Remapping" MEMS1.9: 5bhp gain :)

one small correction. When you change timing or open loop mixture the ECU tells the diagnostic tool where it now is. The pscan tool will then put this on the screen. The tool doesn't know where the ECU is until you change something, that's just how MG Rover made it. If you want to see where it is th...

Re: Anyone used a T4 to read SRS / Airbag ECU codes?

The T4 Rover software is refusing to accept the T4 cable that I have. If I plug it into your car it still won't accept the cable.

Re: Anyone used a T4 to read SRS / Airbag ECU codes?

You don't need to create an error. Even if you can log into the SRS and have it tell you that there are no codes then you will have gotten further than me.

Anyone used a T4 to read SRS / Airbag ECU codes?

I have been trying to connect my T4 to an MGF SRS ECU because there are some error codes that pscan doesn't understand and I want to reverse engineer them out of the T4. I cannot get my T4 to connect. It asks for the "grey" cable, but when the "grey" cable is plugged in it says that it isn't there a...

Re: T300 Will it work.

A 2003 will definitely be EOBD compliant. Make sure that there is a 12V feed to the OBD socket, it could just be a blown fuse.
