Re: Brake upgrades 16”

Sorry, I've only just spotted this! I've got 16inch Abingdons and I've used 280mm discs on the front with Mintex 1144 pads front and rear for a number of years, and now have 280 discs all round with Yellow Stuff pads. I doubt whether any other combination would be any better - the only problem I ha...

Re: Brake upgrades 16”

Hi Keith, Yes, 11-spoke alloys were really the only ones designed to fit over the AP calipers. However others have found that with spacers, it is possible to use other wheel styles. Have a look through the archives, but from memory, you'll need at least 5mm to clear the caliper on the Multi-spoke d...

Brake upgrades 16”

I know this subject kicks about a bit so sorry to bring it up again. I’ve read a lot about the 4 pot AP front calliper upgrades only being feasible on the 11 spoke wheels but have seen plenty of pics of big red callipers in other 16” wheels including 16” multi-spokes (like the ones fitted to my Free...

Wanted ‘freestyle’ badge

Having a re-spray and don’t think my old one will be re-usable. (I’m hopeful but realistic!!)

Does anyone have an original or know who might?

Re: Roof Question

It should be fine just folded but make sue you un-zip it on cold mornings or it'll shatter.

Centre console coming off

Over the bank holiday (and probably for some time afterwards) I was planning on getting the centre console off and tidied up, check the fixings - that sort of thing. I have all new polished parts to go on (though still in need of a set if polished heater knobs) and was planning a colour coded paint ...

Exhausting all the options

The standard exhaust on my 51 1.8 is no more, so it seems a good time to think about any upgrade options for it and/or manifold. Recently fitted K&N cold air induction so it seems a logical next step.

As an MGF newbie, all advice is much appreciated but you'll have to use small words :D
