Re: 1998 MGF repair project of a fabulous car
Why not get it fixed yourself, John Woods Motorcare are not far away from Deeside being in Mold. They are familiar with F/TF.

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
They were sold and picked up two weeks ago. When cleaned up by the buyer one wheel was not in good condition so didn't break even on them financially as I was hoping to do.

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
They are not ULW but OE spec' 11 spokes. I decided not to keep the ULW I had, I am staying with the original 15in V spokes on my TF, which are MY2005 exclusive (though some have found there way onto other F's and TF's).

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
OK I thought you meant on the inside of the rim which would be covered by tyre. I gave the outer surface a quick clean and didn't notice any numbers or text, though possibly still obscured by grime. Wheels now stored out of the way in the garage until I decide whether to pursue getting them sorted.

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
The company refurbishing the wheels are removing the old tyres (and disposing them) and fitting new tyres after refurbishment so I wouldn't actually get to see the wheels without the tyres.

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
Hi Tomcatciller. Where are the numbers on the wheel ? The ones I have are currently fitted with tyres. I saw an add posted on MGF MGTF parts for sale facebook page with the location given as the town I live in. However there are two towns in England that have the same name (and a few villages) and I...

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
Just checked the ones I had and they don't fit. The reverse side prongs are too far apart. 15 years of storing them...wasted !. I can't tell if the badges are metal as plastic type covering material and the white growth appears to be under that. A devastating blow to "I'll keep this just in case' po...

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
I agree they aren't pure MG but were a option late in MGF Trophy production (though possibly not for the UK market) and MGTF option (if you bank balance was OK with that). If the wheel cap size is the same as the Trophy wheel then I have a spare non orginal set without badges from my Trophy owning d...

Re: Ultra Light Wheels
Thanks for reply. For me the ULW's are the best looking wheel design in what was offered by MG (and including the Swedish wheels) which is the motivation to put them on my TF. In getting them refurbed convience plays a factor as my daily is a Honda CR-Z so can only get two in the boot at time, and I...

Ultra Light Wheels
Last weekend I was very lucky to acquire 5 Ultra Light Wheels, then considering they were only about a mile from home here in Brampton, Cumbria, and I "got in first" to say I'd purchase them, it was a stunning turm of events. In three and half years of living here I have probably only seen about 10 ...

Re: Tail lights - is this after market still available somewhere?
The three ring lights are NLA new, used are rare but occasionally do get on ebay. The four ring lights as can seen are available both new (and used). I fitted a set of 'black' ones but didn't like them when fitted and went back to OEM.

Welcome. I'm in Brampton, doesn't seem to be many F/TF owners in North Cumbria, rarely see either.

Re: Mobile mechanics & garage services
Investigate coolant loss likely pointing towards the first sign of HGF, though other than the coolant loss no other symptons. They fitted amongst other work S/S underbody coolant pipes in July 2021 (standard of work was excellent by the way) and the MG has only done just over 100 miles since for une...

Re: MGF looks like a Krafthaus hardtop on ebay.
The spoiler on the ones I have seen before have been black, not matching colour as this one. That's why I was uncertain if it is Krafthaus or not but having looked at the very few pictures on the internet I think it is. Listing ended now so I guess sold.
