Re: modded MGF open to offers

That's all very well but how old is the car and what mileage has it done. Some pictures would also be good along with a starting price.

Re: Coolant Leak From Engine Compartment

You might need to take the engine cover off to get a good look.

Re: Coolant Leak From Engine Compartment

First thing is to check that it is indeed a coolant leak. Check the fluid level in your header tank. If it's down then you probably do have a leak. If not it might just be some water that 's dripped off the car. If it is a coolant leak I'd start with an inspection of all the rubber hoses and also th...

Re: MGF CUP ALLOYS and AP CALIPERS

I think that I'm right in saying that the AP Racing callipers used on the racing cars are different to the ones used on road cars. The "Cup" alloys will therefore fit over the racing ones but you will need a spacer to fit them over the road ones.

Re: Epas failure

When the EPAS fails it's usually a bad connection at the big fuse under the bonnet - it might not be blown but be a dirty connection. Or, since the power steering on the F/TF is speed related it could be a problem with the signal that you are getting from your gearbox/speedo. I'd look into that befo...

Re: TF Spare Wheel

An alloy wheel will certainly fit into the wheel well - I have a 17" alloy in mine. What you have to consider when buying a spare wheel is what size of front brakes you have. If you have the AP Racing 4 pot callipers (big red brakes) then only certain alloy wheels will fit over them and you are ther...

Re: MGTF - Passenger Airbag

Over the years this question has been asked several times. As far as I can remember it's not a straight plug and play job. I think that the complete wiring loom has to be replaced which makes the job a lot more difficult and more expensive. I can't remember anyone actually retro fitting an airbag. I...

Re: Stepspeed Mods

As Tipper says you are limited what you can do to the Steptronic engine because of the torque limitations of the gearbox. However, I've always thought that there has got to be a factor of safety built in and as such I've been running my car with a 52mm TB; ITG Maxogen induction filter and a Daytona ...

Re: Yellow MGF

I've got the 2001 brochure and it doesn't show any yellow (open in separate window to see full picture) . However, I understand that people could order special paint jobs and somebody has possibly asked for a MGF in Trophy Yellow. Just had a thought. If the yellow paint is original then the paint co...

Someone from Wales is trying to sell a black one on the BBS. Personally I think that he's being a bit optimistic with the price he wants.

Re: MGF Trophy Brake Hoses ?

I had stainless brake hoses fitted to my MGF when I had the standard callipers. I changed these to the 4 pot AP Racing ones a few years ago and used the same hoses. Since the AP callipers are the same on the MGF Trophy and the TF160 I would say that the brake hoses are the same on all the cars irres...

Re: MG MGF for £2000 or less - help the noob!

Looks OK from the pictures, but "101,000 miles with some service history". It's the some service history that bothers me. Have a look at it by all means, but I think that there is better out there.

Since I don't know any Mitch Clelland I'm assuming not. However, if he lives in Kilsyth or surrounding area I'm probably a long lost relative :D

Re: First mod - tinted glass on my wind deflector!

I might be wrong, but I always thought that the glass was clear so that you couldn't see it (but it was effective) and your eye was drawn to the hoops. Now that you've tinted it, you've created a black barrier across the back of the car and the hoops don't stand out as much. We all have our own pers...

My first test was my motorbike one when I was sixteen (long time ago). As Adrian said, no theory test. Ran round the block one way and then the other. Examiner never moved. Asked a couple of question on the Highway Code and then it was 750cc Triumph or Norton here I come  Well a picture of one ...

Re: Driving Licence

Ok it sounds as if I don't need to do anything then. You know thinking about this has just reminded me that when I passed my test it was the little red book that I had as a licence which had to be renewed every 3 years (I think). From what I can remember this was changed to the now "old fashioned" p...

Driving Licence

I was at the Post Office yesterday afternoon and noticed a strange contraption in the corner with curtains round it. When I enquired what it was I was told that it was for renewing driving licences. The girl behind the counter informed me that ALL drivers must have the new photocard licence and that...
