We will get the EPAS ECU done, I promise.

Re: 5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

I had the following nice feedback from a customer on our support forum:- I have tried the "immobiliser learn" on 11 different ECU's (mixture of MEMS 1.9, 2J and 3) without any issues. Rob, I think that you should hook up that MEMS3 that you have off of a 75 to your car and see if it will learn the 5...

Re: 5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

It would have to be a weekend, ideally a Saturday close to the 12th of July if that is any good. Sorry Phil, this isn't going to happen this month with work and family commitments. If you could post my ECU's back that would be good. James I will get them in the post this week. Thanks for lending th...

Re: 5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

This week we released an update with some more functionality. The pscan.eu unit can now do the following:- Read EKA Read and write EMS View live data inputs (things like door switches) With the MEMS1.6 / 1.9 / 2J and MEMS3 you can also now put these ECUs into learning mode that the engine ECU can be...

Re: 5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

Also you don't have to visit to get your two ECUs back. I can post them. That said, to get your pektron car on a T4 it would have to be in Milton Keynes anyway because that is where I can get access to a tame T4 owner.

Re: 5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

Great news Phil, I can now sort out the 2nd fob for the F and a master emergency fob for all the 5AS cars. Sorry, I can't lend you the Pektron unit from my mk2 ZS as it is a daily driver but I guess I may be able to pop up at some point so you can test it (and I can collet the 2 ECUs). I could comb...

Re: 5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

The protocol for engine ECU to "learn" the 5AS, and to report on the status of the 5AS looks simple too, at least for the MEMS1.6, 1.9, 2J and 3. Rob I know that you wanted to try a non 5AS MEMS3 on a 5AS. Soon you will be able to wire one up to 5AS and try it and the tool will tell you whether it w...

5AS tool progress and Pektron wanted.

First, a shameless plug for the pscan.eu diagnostic tool: we have now released 5AS code for the tool so that people can read and write EMS, read EKA and code in immobiliser fobs 8-) 5AS live data will be available soon. People are now asking about Pektron. Does anyone have a spare Pektron ECU lying ...

There is now a software update for pscan which makes the ABS 5.0/5.3 protocol work again.

ABS controller pinout needed

Hi I bought a Rover 25 ABS controller on ebay as I need something on the bench to test my diagnostic protocol. I am guessing that it will be the same as the MGF as the protocol certainly is, and I found this wiring diagram http://mgfcar.de/schedules/sb15.jpg http://mgfcar.de/schedules/sb15.jpg The p...

Re: Could engine vibration cause diagnostics protocol failur

only MEMS2J.
It doesn't happen on the MEMS1.9 (non VVC) nor on the MEMS3.
I was wondering it there is something different about the wiring on the MEMS2J with any connectors that could be subject to engine vibration or something.

Re: Could engine vibration cause diagnostics protocol failur

What are seeing is a hard digital switch from 0V to 12V, so it's not just a bit of noise on the line. I realised today that it is unlikely to be a bad connection because the ECU always seems to receive the messages from the diagnostic tool; it is only the replies that are getting corrupted. I think ...

Could engine vibration cause diagnostics protocol failures?

Looking at oscilloscope traces from todays testing on Marty's VVC it appears that the failures are always one way, i.e. the K line is sometimes high when it should be low, but never the other way round. This is only happening when the engine is running and is worse when the engine is revved up to 30...

Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!

Another thought. You need to look at requested cam period as well as measured.
If the ECU is only requesting 215 and it is getting 215 then maybe the problem isn't with the VVC mech. If it is requesting 235 but only getting 215 then there is a problem there either mech or sensor.

Re: Mgf donor car: building an MG Allegro VVC!

Is it anything to do with "Closed loop fuelling status" which is one of the parameters that you can read with your pscan?
