Gasses in coolant
Had a sniffer test done as I was having an issue with air in my coolant tank - it would appear from the results I have an issue with the head gasket . Hi all - I have a mark 1 mgf which I have changed the centre console to the mark 2 type which I think looks much better - I have all the switches working apart from the mark 2 front fog light switch which will not switch the fogs off - I have had to put my mark 1 switch back in but it does not look ...

Really intresting stuff chaps - I don't pretend to understand half of it but im pretty sure running two pre OBD2 mgfs I need to seriously raise the cash for one of these

Hope it goes well Rob - both my F's went in one after the other - one failed on emissions and the other on a wishbone - all sorted now but double the stress levels in one day not the greatest planning !

Oil at map sensor
Changed the map sensor the other day and noticed a slight amount of oil around it ? Also when I changed the throttle body I noticed some oil around the flap so it appears there is a slight amount of oil getting into the plenium chamber (VVC) Is this a cause for concern ? - I have a K & N filter fitt...

Hi Boo Boo - Carolyn's F has Mike Satur Mk 2 roll hoops and a one piece glass rear window hood and it works a treat - the only thing to note is you need to fold down the glass wind deflector that is inbetween the hoops prior to opening the roof to avoid contact with the HRW

My 96 MGF has green anti-freeze and I need to top it up - popped down to Halfords and they only sell Blue - Checked the bottle and it was Ethylene Glycol BS6580 so it seemed ok but having checked with the chap at the info desk he stated Green and Blue are different and cannot be mixed - I previously...
