Welcome to the Forum, as Nigel says, there is no such thing as a silly question. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience here, which people willingly share. Good luck in your search for the car.

Re: Back Again....February 2019

Don't worry about fitting Hairpins to yours, but, being 16" rather than 15" you'd find some differences in ride and handling. The thinner sidewalls on the 16" wheels give a firmer ride and taughter handling

Re: Wheels - 15" Minilite v 16" Hairpin

I have Falkens on my F, 2000 Wedgwood with hairpins, and am pleased with the performance. Never used them on a track, but their good handling got me out of a difficult situation. As regards the pros and cons of 15" or 16". wheels, there are differences in ride and handling between them. The 15" whee...

Re: Very wet carpet, tips for leak finding and removal

It could also be the top of the window not sealing at the front where it joins the windscreen. The rubber can deteriorate with time and loose its flexibility. I had the same problem, I resolved it by cutting a 4cm square piece from a square juice bottle, and inserting it under the corner of the hood...

Re: MG TF Track tires And Chinese MG TF

There may be alternative ways of tackling this. Suspension: Is your car fitted with the 'comfort' softer springs? I suspect it may be as it is a late model. Wheels & Tyres: I suspect your car is fitted with 16" wheels and the thin tyres. You could fit the earlier 15" wheels with the higher profile t...

As one of their regular supporters can I say "Thank you!" on behalf of the RNLI. With the cost of things these days such a generous donation is very welcome.

That's a neat job, and should save quite a bit of weight.

What have you used to paint it? I've always used either Zinga or Galvafroid with Chassis Black as a top coat, not cheap, but lasts for years.

Far simpler to fit a switch to the gearbox so that the car won't start unless it's in Neutral.

Hello John, and welcome to the Forum.

I think you are wise to consider replacing the water pipes, mine is a 2000 model and needed the pipes changed last year, mind you it has covered nearly twice the mileage yours has.

Re: Brakes that have little or no feel......... dead?

I've just re-read this thread and I think I can shed a little light on the situation. The previous owner was an old chap, well so am I, I'm in my late 70s. When we learned to drive, we were taught not to rely on our brakes. You controlled the speed using the gears and the accelerator, only using the...

Replacement Screen Washer Nozzles

There are rust bubbles appearing by my n/s washer nozzle. when I attend to it, I thought it might be a good idea to replace the nozzles with metal screw-on ones. Has anyone done this? If so, where might I obtain them?
