Re: Have been very quiet for while....

Not temporary I am afraid the changes are due to family deaths .......... 1st was Father and now my Sister. There was no cover for expenses and so the house is being sold and we are helping Mother fullfill a dream of living in France. Renting until we find the area and property that suits. Due to th...

Have been very quiet for while....

Due to various things going on it real life I have not been onto the forums for some time. This year has been a very horrible one and this has meant that is was not possible to attend most of the events and meetings that I did last year. Now due to all this we are moving and so I have to get rid of ...

Re: Is there anybody out there.

Well although I am not quite in your area being in Lincolnshire yes it's quiet there too. Although the meets are still happening I believe here at least. have not been to one for some time though. Have to see when the next one is and try to get there soon. Many do seem to hibernate though. I also fe...

Re: Motorbike throttle bodies on a K-series - and run on MEMS3?

Oh, and almost forgot: I have attached a couple of crimp-on connectors to a pair of wires from the C0159 MEMS3 connector: IMG_2337.JPG These are for two essentially redundant functions that might be "interesting" for later: one is for the "Malfunction Indicator Lamp" (MIL), which doesn't feature on...

Re: Sloppy gear change (at gear lever)

The mechanism in the 75th was worn and very sloppy. Due to some numpty overtightening and or lociting them it was not possible to undo to nuts without damage so I rebuilt one good mechaimsm out of the two. Also shortened the lever at the same time. Drilled the top of the shaft 10mm then made up a st...

Re: 215 or 195 tyres on the front of F?

Well currently I am trying 205/45 R16's on one of my mGF's fitted with the 16" Multispoke rims. Due to the wheels being fitted over AP calipers 5mm spacers are in use which of course widens the front track by 10mm overall. When she had 215's all round the front was skittish and one noticed ever tar ...

Re: Brake line leak

I suspect that you caught, twisted, or moved the solid brake like up behind the sphere. The N/S is up behind the resonator box the O/F runs up around to top of the bay past the sphere and it's difficult to see. The rust where the clips hold the pipes. These were the rear brake lines from both sides ...

Re: F and TF Parts for Sale (with photos)

You just missed them, rear crash cans were sold Thursday, along with the metal throttle body, a door handle and the roll bar brackets. If there are any other parts you want don't hesitate to ask. I will be adding more parts before the body is taken away in a few days. Oh well never mind. I actually...

Re: hydragas top up

Well they all required work and saving. The 75th cost £250, the Blue 97 MPi £170 and "Elsie" the 97 VVC cost £155 off ebay with 6 months test remaining. Only "Blue" was able to be driven she had 9 days test left. "Elsie" was losing coolant, suspected HGF, but it was in fact the radiator and an ill f...

Thank you this was the 3rd one that I have taken on. Both other project threads are on another forum though. On "Elsie" my British Racing Green 97 VVC she got a total interior swap over to a MY2000 one in Walnut and Cream with half wood steering wheel. Currently off the road whilst we gather funds t...

Perhaps we should meet up? After all your only about 7-10 milesa way. I am no expert but then again no stranger to spanners etc. There is a restoration build on the 75th Anniversary somewhere here to give an idea of what i have tackled so far..

Mine it seems are a bit like the Forth bridge ................................................ there is always something to do on one of them. It's "Elsie" my 97 VVC that is having some things done at the moment.

Re: MOT Emissions failure

I suggest you also replace the 02 sensor. My 97 VVC failed on emissios the other year and Bredan the chap who did the work I could not checked the readings and the sensor was not switching as it should. A new Klarius CAT and Intermotor sensor sorted it out. Sadly Brendan has moved away so I cannot g...
