Re: Trophy woes

If it's any consolation we managed to melt the motherboard on my wifes laptop on the way back from Italy one year.
I blame the person who put it in the boot against the rear engine bulkhead, and it wasn't my wife - 0pps.

Re: Replacing all subframe mounts

.....I do have Polybushes all around (purple)..... The colour of the bushes is chosen by the manufacturer. The "shore" value is the level of compression, natural rubber being 70 shore and solid being 100 shore. I had a set of poly bushes made up in lime green for my forest green TF subframes on my ...

Re: Baffling. PAS on, then off. Pull 70 AMP fuse out and in. PAS back

Mk 1 F have a cable, mk2 onwards have a digital speedo using an electrical pulse from a sender on the gearbox. If your car has a LCD display for the milometer then it has a digital speedo. The PAS ECU gets a pulse signal from the speedo regardless of the drive to the speedo. Early MGF had a 2 piece ...

Hi and welcome to the forum

I would love to offer the services of my www.pscan.uk but I'm in the UK so it's a bit of a trek.

Re: MG TF 1st and Reverse gear selection

Hi and welcome to the forum Difficulty to select first and reverse when stationary is a classic sign of clutch or release bearing. Try selecting first while rolling to see if it goes in more easily. In many vehicles it is quite possible to change gear without using the clutch when moving, I do it al...

Re: Handbrake cable disconnection.

Hi and welcome to the forum

There are plenty of how to guides on the internet including some at the T bar (link below).

Also Haynes manuals for the MGZR and for the metro cover some parts of the F and TF as they didn't get their own.

One thing that might help is fitting smaller wheels with bigger profile tyres.

Cheers for the heads up, frustrating that it is normally 4L and one needs to buy 2 to do an oil change.

I have no experience with RedStuff pads - but I currently use YellowStuff, which seems to work well, with no protests from the brakes.......
I like the yellow stuff pads, the best balance between usable on the road and a bit of "givin' it some".

Hi and welcome to the forum,

A 2012 TF would also be known as a LE500 and has marked differences to the pre 2006 TF.

Re: Another Electric MG F

Sort of related - we have just spent a week driving 400 miles around Minorca in a Ford Puma baby SUV that said it was a hybrid but the only hint I got that it had an electric motor at all was the occasional electrical symbol that appeared on the dash when cruising, and that it managed 45mpg. I meant...

But that would cause the SRS light, not the ABS light???

Looks good, now you need to get the glass etched so that the number sits in the window of the sticker.

I went the other way retaining the rubber MGF mounts when I fitted TF subframes to my F, I wanted to retain the GT feel of the earlier car.

Back in the day when my mate was running the infamous "mental maestro" of top gear fame he found the car was better on track without a rear ARB. And was better with the 18mm ARB than the 22 ARB.
