Not a problem. I just offered quick solution. However repairing existing is also my way of doing thing. Unfortunately it takes spare time which is in deficit each time more and more.

Re: Locking wheel nut removal tool

I know we are not living in same country, but just when after few months I had a chat with my mechanic who was telling that today there is no need for this kind of security anymore, because no one steals wheels no more, it happens that my neighbour was left with one steel wheel missing on the parkin...

Re: Footwell lights problem (yes again - sorry !)

There is no BCU in this car, as it is 1996, so she has Lucas system. Also there is no earth wire, because mirror lights and footwell lights are controled in same way, from alarm box. One side of all of them is connected to power via fuse, and other side is controled by alarm box. Alarm box provide e...

Re: Footwell lights problem (yes again - sorry !)

If you check the bulbs and mirror lights work as they should, I cannot see other problem but in the wiring to the footwell lamps.

Re: Should my Mgtf have central locking

Pektron fobs does not use same system for communication with alarm box, and when changing battery you do not need to make any re-sync of fob, like in case with Lucas one. All Pektron fobs works the same on TFs and other MG-Rover cars equipped with Pektron alarm system. Of course, not all TFs have Pe...

Re: Cat astrophy

Changing Cat after 6 years is good value for money, so I would not be overly fuss about that. Ceramic inside cat is going to brake and can make you problems. You can go my route, and buy stainless steal custom made exhaust with metal instead of ceramic inside the cat. But then you will have louder n...

Re: MGTF 135 from 2003 : 7 diagnostic error codes without starting engine and no solution

Can you first check wiring on left boot hinge and earth points? To me this more looks like bad earth or problem in wiring with some random errors.

I saw your new post and picture over the luch brake and I prepared some poctures to point you into right direction. But, now I see that you managed to resolve things by yourself, which is great. However, I decided to post these pictures for future reference, because John's picture might be pointing ...

I am sorry, must slipped from my reading that you were in test mode. However, if no blink on the dash, would mean that switch does not operate correctly?

Re: MgF Bonnet Switch Wiring

Ah yes I can understand that. Maybe the only true test will be to pry the boot open with a crowbar! I can see my manual test is not valid. I just rechecked the wiring diagram too but it doesn't really explain how using a key overcomes the alarm. If the catch is the only switch then how do...

Re: Immobiliser trouble

Maybe the best course of action is to first inspect keyfob. Maybe batteries does not have good contact, or maybe something else is wrong with the fob.
Last resort can be Technozen who can programm fobs to your alarm box if you send them the alarm box (and fobs).
