Re: mg maestro turbo with no spark, help!

I am trying to remember what causes the trigger for the ECU, IIRC it'll be the crank sensor which is at the back of the block above the starter, check wiring and if need be pop it out and clean it.

Where abouts are you?

Discs are easy to fit.

MOTs can be had for £30.

Re: Engine conversion

I'd agree with Rob, sounds like HGF.

The Rover 25/ZR manual covers the engine.

Hi and welcome.

Sorry to hear about your knee.
Is this an introduction tread or a for sale ad?

Have you considered a stepspeed?

If you are sure it will pass the MOT stick it for sale with MOT at a reasonable price and chuck it through the MOT once sold.

Re: Whats Your Total Spend...And Be Honest

In the 4 years of ownership I have spent more on fuel, tax and insurance than I have on repairs and upgrades.

Clean it out, go for a long drive and keep an eye on it. It is either HGF or isn't HGF. If it is you'll need to get it sorted anyway.

Re: insurance

People have swapped to TF subframes, others have fitted the suplex solution and yet others have fitted the Australian version.

Personally I'm sticking with hydrogas.

Why are you asking.

Re: A few upgrades

Alas for me I'm on the older one so a mappable ecu will mean a re mortgage for an emerald. Or upgrade to MEMS3, I can't remember the details but it can be done using the earlier manifold by adding a sensor and then getting the requirement for the post cat lambda probe mapped out of the ECU so it do...

Z&F can do mk2 F from VIN 522573 onwards, the mk1 can not be mapped on the standard ECU.
